Why I bought more DEC recently....
I recently bought more DEC when it was down at $!.50 per 1000, and I'm still buying now even thought it's up to $1.70 per thousand.

I'm buying it because I did some simple math which revealed that the value of SPS I'll receive on pooled DEC (so double to drop points) SHOULD yield me more than the cost of the DEC.

This assumes that:

1. The SPS per point ratio remains roughly the same
2. The price of SPS doesn't plummet drastically.
3. You're prepared to HODL DEC for 100 days.

I did a spreadsheet:

Even though I'm not linking it - it's relatively easy to replicate.

The TOTAL VALUE at the end is the dollar value you'll get in SPS assuming the price in the previous column, over 100 days.

As you can see ATM after 100 days with SPS at $0.13 you will get $0.002 work of SPS per DEC held and pooled with HIVE or SPS to double your drop...

And currently the [price of DEC](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dark-energy-crystals/) is $0.0017, so IF you buy DEC now and it goes to ZERO you'll still have bought some relatively cheap SPS.

And DEC probably won't go to zero because of the recently announced soft PEG - the future ability to buy CHAOS packs for either $4 or 4000 DEC.

Perversely it's maybe even worth selling SPS atm for DEC, as you'll end up with even more SPS - although you have to weigh that up with the 25% staking APR and VOUCHERs you get, so that's a bit tighter than swapping say stables for DEC.

### DRY NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE.....

Things to watch out for in this is the period you're prepared to hold DEC for - all of this assumes you are prepared to die-hard hodl until the bitter end of the airdrop probably while DEC crashes ....

It also assumes the ratio stays the same - BUT now the card buying spreee is over, now that less DEC is being printed (because it's cheap) it should be easier than previously to hold your position in the drop table.

And of course there is price - if SPS drops below say $0.10 you're looking at a loss compared to just buying it later and < $0.10.
