When you practice in the classroom or dojo, it seems it is easy to defend against multiple punches. You're not under stress, your life is not in danger, your opponent is not that aggressive. When your life is in danger and you are under pressure, you find it difficult to deal with attackers.

The attacker can do a single punch, so you can parry and counter-attack. If the attacker does one-two straight punch, again after blocking two punches, you can attack the attacker. When it comes to multiple punches,  the attacker will not stop after doing a single punch or two punches. 

The moment you see one punch is coming, you block that. Another punch is about to hit you. So how long are you going to parry and block punches? 

You think you can move back as a defense against multiple punches. As soon as you move back, the attacker steps forward and covers the gap, and he will keep punching. It is not going to be easy to defend against multiple punches.

To defend yourself against multiple punches, you have to strike the attacker as quickly as you can. Even when you block, make sure that the attacker feels the pain. So your block and parry would be different. Your block and parry are supposed to feel like a strike.

You can move to the side, counter-attack instantly. You can make the distance and kick the attacker. When the attacker gets hurt, he will stop doing multiple punches automatically.
