There are some attacks that you might find difficult to defend. If someone grabs your legs and pulls, you will fall on the ground. And there is a high chance that if anyone falls on the ground, you will get injured. So what can you do to defend yourself against takedown in a fight?

Let's watch this video. All video credit goes to [ fightTIPS ](https://www.youtube.com/user/FightTipsVideos).

If someone wants to grab your legs and takes you down, he has to come close to you and lower his head in order to grab your legs. If there is a distance between you and your opponent, you can see his move clearly and you have enough time to respond.

When you are close to your opponent, he can suddenly grab you and take you down. In this video, it shows how to move to the side while holding your opponent to prevent the takedown. However, the body weight remains to the opponent if you defend like that.

If you are in front of your opponent, he takes you down. To stop him from doing that, you can make the distance between your legs and ground yourself properly. Now you can place your hand to his neck and grab one hand to control. In this way, you can stop him as well as control him.

Now you can strike and get rid of this. So what would you do to defend against the takedown in a fight? Please feel free to leave your comment below.
