Sigres is a gem in the Algarve. If you're a surfer, it's perfect - there's a few wild beaches on the west side, and some calmer beaches on the other. It's a short drive in either direction for a range of surf beaches. Unfortunately, there was no swell AND onshore winds whilst we there. There were surfers on the heavier break to the west though.   The fort itself is pretty cool, but we only saw it from the outside. According to wiki: > The fortress was built in the 15th century by order of Portugal's Infante Henry the Navigator. Heavily damaged in the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, it was rebuilt in the late 18th century albeit with significant remodeling....Inside, the Church of Nossa Senhora da Graça, also built by Henry the Navigator, stands out.The fortress is of great historical importance because of its connection to the history of Henry the Navigator and Portuguese discoveries.[5] In 2018 it was the most visited monument in the Algarve, probably in the entire region south of the Tagus. I'm sorry I didn't take a photo... I still wasn't feeling great.  Still, it was lovely - we stopped for an espresso and a custard tart (famous in Portugal, and we get them at all bakeries in Australia pretty much, as they are so good). We later stopped and had a veggie burger at the same place, treating ourselves.  I don't know why haven't been feeling well lately - no idea why, maybe just iron deficient or travel weary or something. So it was nice just to chill and have some food out for a change. I'm getting a bit fed up with making the same food for dinner as well! But it's expensive to eat out.   Sigres is the 'tip' of the Algarve, joining the two coastlines. There's a large historic fort there and a lovely marina. There's quite a few surf shops as well as nice eateries.   We liked it a lot - but we couldn't find anywhere decent to stay here without the risk of getting fined, so moved further down the coast and went on a crazy road, which I'll tell you about tomorrow. <center> # `With Love,`  **Are you on HIVE yet?
