I'm a guy who likes to spend his holidays around family, mostly at home, with the family members and relatives, home cooked meals and a bit of catching up at the dinner table. However, it wasn't always like this. My "holiday" plans used to be different, I used to have a huge list of options and occasions to choose from about a decade ago.

Nowadays, I'd rather avoid the fancy meetups and events. I guess it's that way because I've spent most of my teenage years hanging out with friends, mostly outside, from here to there and there to here.

I used to hangout with a big group of people back then, had quite a lot of "friends" you can say, ones that were always ready to kick it, go all out, always on party mode 24/7-365. So the number of invites and available occasions to attend surely used to be overwhelming. I would sometimes even go out of my way just to attend every one of those events, even if it was just for a few minutes. Just get in, meetup with everyone, relax for a bit, and then just head out on my next "adventure".

Even though most of my friends still follow the same "groove" and "way of living", I for some reason am not interested in that kind of a lifestyle anymore. Maybe it's that way because I'm now older and lazier. I also don't like sticking to a certain "plan" for too long, unless it falls under the category of things that I absolutely love. On top of that, the past few years have been busy, so whatever free time I get is mostly spent at home, resting, spending time with family. And honestly, even if I had all the free time in the world, I'd still be spending most of it chasing newer experiences, trying to reach greater heights.

A lot of my friends say that I've become a bore over the years, not going out as much, ignoring events, yadayadayada. I say it's the opposite actually, how can one person live the same old lifestyle and enjoy the same old hobbies for over a decade or more? I don't know about the others, but I sure as hell can't stick to a repetitive routine and lifestyle, not for that long at least.

Every now and then I have to shuffle up my own damn hobbies. I sometimes put one of my hobbies on the side and then try to focus and invest more time in another. Sometimes I just scour through the web, just so that I stumble upon something new, something that deserves a bit of attention. I'm all about experiences, trying out and experimenting with "newer" things, meeting new people, trying to learn more and get better in the different aspects of life.

Now, if that makes me and my lifestyle "boring", then I'd rather be a boring for a while...
