Have you ever wondered why some posts make a lot more money than others?

Well, it's not 100% true that every succesful post needs to have good quality content. After a week in steemit, i've started to see a pattern of conduct in the users, Which i'll like to call #WhaleHunting.

"Many new users are piling onto any post they see with a dollar value beneath it" quoting @gavvet on this. Basically when the new users or minnow (as we are called) see that a post with 10 votes is worth 100$ they can't help to vote and comment, even if they are not adding anything useful to the conversation. Everyone wants a piece of cake in these kind of posts, which quickly unleash a Domino effect.

The Domino effect in Steemit

All it takes is 1 vote from a Super Whale, Whale or a heavy Dolphin to ignite the spark, simple as this: Whale>Money>Minnow>More Whales> more Minnows, same with comments, 80% of the time it's just random blabber with a "notice me senpai" attitude, some people doesn't even read the post before upvoting or commenting, all they want is be part of something succesful.
