System.out.println ("Hello World!");
**Hello there everyone!**

My name is Amy and it's a pleasure to meet you, the person that has somehow found my humble page in the sea of content Steemit has to offer.

So, a little about myself, I'm a college student majoring in Computer Science that hopes to one day begin a career in Software Engineering/Development. Initially I actually began my college experience in the nursing field, but after a year of just being completely unable to push myself to pass Anatomy and Physiology and after a few long talks with my significant other, I decided to change my major to something that I knew I would love more, Computer Science.

Now you might be wondering why I decided to make the drastic change from Nursing to Computer Science and what inspired it. Well, for one my boyfriend is also a Computer Science major (which isn’t the reason why I switched, just a perk) and I found myself actually interested in what he was learning more than what I was learning. Two, I love video games and want to make my own! You read it right, I was inspired/motivated to jump to a difficult STEM degree and endure Calculus because I love video games and always wanted to create my own video game when I was younger. You just have to do what you love, you know?

<center>*Disclaimer: I cried my way through Calculus, but that’s okay since I’m finally at the point where all of my required math classes are out of the way and I can to learn to code!*</center>

Which brings me to the next thought… Why did I decide to make a Steemit and what will I be posting on my blog? Well for one, my boyfriend, the very same one that inspired and pushed me towards Computer Science, has a blog called @Mindhacks (shameless plug to the 3 people that find my post) and he seemed like he was having a lot of fun doing it so I decide what the heck, let me try it out too.

<center>*I use IntellijIDEA for Java if you're curious!*</center>

Then more seriously, I wanted an alternative way to learn and decided to use Steemit to do it. Traditional notes are kind of a pain, fancy, pretty notes are a bigger pain, and I couldn’t really find a good way to take down notes for learning to code so I thought, “Why not do it in a sort of blog format on Steemit so that it’s easier to read, easier to do (since I can copy and paste my code instead of writing in by hand), and *hopefully* other people can use it as well?
**¯\_(ツ)_/¯”**

So, if anyone else is out here going through the process of learning a few programming languages maybe my posts will help! I made no promises if it doesn’t though.

That being said, I also plan on posting about how to create video games as I learn to do so and will show off bits and pieces of anything I develop on this blog as well. I’ve got to learn a lot and it will probably be pretty amateur and crap at first, but everyone’s got to start somewhere you know?

Anyways, this is the start of RNPG. Play on everyone~ (You know because RNPG is Relax and Play Games? No? Okay bye, sorry.)
