Material science or in fact biology, chemistry, life sciences, physics, pure science, science of matter; All science is discovery that is recorded, disseminated and applied. Imprinted on our world view from nursey school is the view that scienctific discoveries have shaped the world we live in, with each new discovery benefiting this generation over its predecessors. Scientists making these discoveries are placed on pedestals and regarded as the Gods of our mental capabilities and mental aspirations. You see with science we can fuck up God's perfect creation. We can pollute the food supply with chemistry and biophysics make people sick, then heal them through pharmacology. We can create beautiful cities and building designs through structural engineering, then bring about immense destruction through weapons technology. We can wirelessly communicate with each other whilst giving ourselves brain tumours from cell phone radiation. Made my point. God's application of science is supreme, take a look at nature. Did our ancestors not eat and drink and find shelter long before any scientific discoveries? 'Yes but' is the answer from most. Hold your horses before thinking the same. Be a radical and consider the possibility that our existence here is TEMPORARY. The whole concensus that mankind is progressing throughout the ages and the importance given to making sure the entirety of human knowledge is captured, passed on, maintained and built upon is to me completely fallacious. A person from 500 years ago had the potential to lead a rich and awarding life as anyone today, minus all the technology. You'll live maybe 100 years then leave here. What's so important about humanities scientific progression to you then? The most impotant thing to learn about in life is afterlife.
