Presently, we come across various teachings and doctrines that is pertaining to Christianity. People say all manner of things this day in the name of teaching God's word. As Christians, we need to be selective as to the type and manner of teachings we should receive.

Not every doctrine being preached today are the true doctrines of Christ. There are a number of them which are actually false and ends up deceiving the people at the long run.

>_1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world._

The spirit that influences someone to preach certain doctrines is very important. There are false spirits that inspire one that causes them to say things that is not by the leading of the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit isn't the one that inspires the teachings of a preacher then it is a false spirit.

We should be mindful of false teachers, as stated in 2 Peter 2:1. The true of of Christ are what is expected of a Christian to live by. Any doctrine contrary to this should be stayed away from.
