My First Time Trying Ahonex — The Splinterlands Card Auction House That’s Totally Addictive!

Hey fellow Splinterlanders!

A few days ago, I stumbled upon some posts about this, but only today did I finally try out this new feature that’s supposed to make card trading in Splinterlands a lot easier. It’s called [*Ahonex.com*](https://ahonex.com/). At first, I thought, “Eh, probably just another regular marketplace,” but nope — it’s *different*. And not just different, but fun enough to keep me glued to the auction page while waiting for a battle to start in Splinterlands.

So here’s the deal.
**Ahonex** stands for **Auction House ONline EXchange**, and it’s basically a *peer-to-peer marketplace* made exclusively for Splinterlands cards. Unlike centralized markets we usually use, this one lets you *create your own auctions* or *bid on others’*. What’s cool is everything runs directly through your Hive Wallet. No KYC, no uploading documents. Just log in with your Keychain and boom — you're in the auction arena.

I tried logging in with Keychain — smooth and easy!

Right off the bat, I was impressed by the clean and simple layout. It’s user-friendly and doesn’t overwhelm you. The filter features are super helpful too — you can sort cards by rarity, level, price, even abilities. I was on the lookout for cheap utility cards to beef up my collection without busting my budget.

That said, during my early exploration, I noticed that the card pool isn’t very big yet. Maybe because not many people know about this site yet, or perhaps they’re still figuring out how to list auctions — it’s all new, after all.

I even considered listing some of my older cards for sale. But I’m holding off for a bit while I review which cards I no longer need and what I’m still missing — especially for the Modern format. Also, there's a listing fee of 250 DEC, and I want to find out: if your auction doesn’t sell, do you get that fee back?

But the *most mind-blowing* feature in my opinion? **BidPay**.

Usually, when you bid and lose, that’s it — better luck next time. But with Ahonex, if you use the BidPay system, you can actually **get paid if you overbid but don’t win**. So it’s not a total loss. I gave it a shot — placed a few bids on some cards. One of my starting bids was 100.02 DEC.

Still testing it out, but what I noticed is: if your bid gets outbid, your DEC goes right back into your wallet. Sweet!

Oh, and they’ve got this neat feature called **Prima Nocta** — kind of like a *first bidder bonus*. If you’re the first person to bid on a card and end up winning it, you get *half of the site’s fee* back. So you don’t just win the card — you also get a little bonus! Some players use this strategically — placing a high bid right away to scare off future bidders.

One more small but important feature: **Minimum Bid Increase**. It makes auctions more competitive by allowing the seller to set the minimum bid increment — either by a fixed amount or a percentage. That helps keep prices climbing at a fair and steady pace.

After playing around with Ahonex, I really feel like this platform has great potential — especially to help newer players get good deals.

**The Pros:**

* No KYC required
* Lower fees
* Smart bidding (and sometimes you get paid!)
* Simple, beginner-friendly interface with great filters
* Growing and active community

**The Cons?**
Well, since it’s still pretty new, not all cards are available yet. You might need to be patient if you’re hunting something specific — especially rare or older edition cards. Also, it’s not just cards being auctioned — packs, titles, totems, and other items are supported too. But since the platform is still growing, those items are rarely listed (for now).

**Final Thoughts?**
If you play Splinterlands and love the thrill of hunting for cards or want to score a good deal through bidding, **[Ahonex](https://ahonex.com/)** is a *must try*. It’s not just a place to buy and sell — it’s a place to learn market strategies, observe trends, and sometimes walk away with a little surprise — like getting paid for a lost bid!

So yeah, give it a shot. Who knows? Your dream card might be waiting for you there.
