“I wonder why, oh why, I always get this feeling
 	  They show me what I like but it's not appealing”.

Hold up! Though this line, sung by A. Chal in his song “Matrix” speaks to me in many ways, it doesn’t when it comes to Steemit. I found out about the platform through @lofty305 as he talked about it briefly in one of his Instagram storys. After reading a couple articles and watching the one or other video I figured I must give it a shot. Especially because I love the idea of a decentralized social media platform. Big ups to the creators!

So here I am, nice to meet you!

My name is Ruben Woellert. I was born in Leipzig, Germany (known, amongst other things, for the peaceful revolution in 1989 to overthrow the communist regime). I had a great childhood and found my first love at the age of nine. Basketball! After playing in the local team for a couple of years I decided to pursue my dream to become pro and moved to Jena. There I was attending a boarding school specialized for sports and eventually graduated with a Highschool diploma in 2014. Two pro seasons later my dream was partially fulfilled but it wasn’t as great as I always thought. On to the next chapter. Being at zero again I picked up music production, something I was interested in for some time but never put in the effort, worked on construction sites and read a lot. Plus, I started building my company “Marken Marken” which is focusing on high quality olive oil and wine from the province le Marche in Italy. Talking about my mental state I came a long way in this year. Being happier from day to day. Then came the biggest and so far, greatest change in my life since I went to boarding school. I went to Bratislava, Slovakia for a short trip with my friend Nick. There I know a former teammate. He introduced us to the city and his friends and it was a perfect match. The puzzle got completed when he told me about BISLA. A liberal arts college in the city. One week after my return home I got accepted and moved. Now I am a student of philosophy, sociology and political science, a becoming producer for my talented friends and a businessman.  

So much for a small overview of myself. But what can you expect me to contribute to Steemit?
