The future we have been fantasizing about is finally here with us. The use of augmented reality is finally being looked into in more depth and its applications are being tested in different sectors. In 2017, what could be the simplest of uses of augmented reality, Pokémon Go became a sensational hit for the masses. Its workings were not as smooth but the rate of acceptance and the number of downloads it attracted was a positive sign for the future of augmented reality. People could be seen walking down the streets testing out the game and getting excited when they see their Pokémon standing on the streets through their smartphones. It was an exciting period that will probably go down in history as what helped to further the development of augmented reality. More augmented reality games such as Harry Potter: Wizards Unite are currently in development to meet the demand created by AR games. AR development is beyond the software. There are companies that are developing hardware necessary for the full AR experience. Smartphones and tablets are currently the most widely used devices for AR but they are probably the most basic. For the full AR experience better hardware is needed. Companies like Microsoft are working on their AR hardware such as the HoloLens which may probably be vital for AR in future. There is also the ODG R6 and R7 glasses which could also serve AR. Imagining the future without AR at this point is impossible. There are a lot of things that AR could change if AR is executed correctly.

Arcona is taking the AR concept to a whole new level. Arcona is the company working on the Arcona augmented reality platform. They are working on merging the virtual world with the real world and creating an interactive digital layer where the possibilities of augmented reality can be seen. Blockchain is going to be part of the Arcona system. Blockchain in the platform will be an integral part of the features that the platform will offer to its users. There will be a need for transparency in Arcona. Arcona is going to have features that will require users to pay for the services received through tokens known as Arcona tokens, which is also another need for blockchain, hence the need for a transparent ledger that is trusted by both the payer and the receiver of the tokens. The payment also needs to be done securely which is also a strength of the blockchain platform. In Arcona, developers are going to come up with augmented reality creations that may be unique to them. They will need a system that will protect their creation from copyright infringement and blockchain through smart contracts will be able to deliver this. Arcona is going to be built on top of the Ethereum blockchain which has been used in different settings successfully delivering what those platforms needed. The smart contracts will also be important in coming up with the terms of the contracts that will also be used in Arcona. There will be buying and selling of property which will also need a secure contract system.

The Arcona augmented reality platform is set to integrate augmented reality with business. There are different business applications that could come from augmented reality in different economic sectors. There are applications in the world of tourism, education, gaming, the art industry and many more depending on our own creativity in the Arcona platform. Ideas of how Arcona may be used may come from anyone in the platform. It may come from users, business people or developers. Arcona will host all these people in its platform with the aim of helping them interact and come up with AR related solutions. Parties in Arcona will be connected in a P2P basis. Whatever idea anyone comes up with in the platform, they can get developers who are willing to develop this idea into an actual AR product or service in Arcona.

Arcona will have a marketplace where these parties can connect and lead the future of augmented reality. All these augmented reality possibilities will be made possible through the main product that Arcona will be selling in its platform, Digital Land. Digital Land is Arcona’s signature product. It is the digital layer that will exist from combining the real world with the digital world. 

Arcona will have capabilities that will enable it to serve the imaginations of its developers. One of the features of Arcona is being able to create an AR product or service in a location that is far away from you. Arcona will make this possible as it is being built as a remote positioning and content management system. Through Arcona, you could create something in Beijing while you sit comfortably at your own residence in any part of the world and manage its actions and interactions with those in Beijing. This will be useful especially for businessmen who need to travel around the world to sell their products. A good case study is real estate developers. Through Arcona, real estate developers and investors can interact in a more cost friendly way by eliminating travel costs to the site of the building or to meet up with either party. The Arcona platform can be used by developers to present their products to investors. They can be given a tour of the whole project through augmented reality. The project may be in any part of the world while the viewings cite remains in a central point or moves from place to place. This is just one example but it could be applied in different settings.
