Chess fans, to the Games showcase post, where we will look at some interesting games from the first round of the Saturday Weekly Tournament.  <br> The selected games feature brilliant tactics, and players will share in the reward for their games being featured in this post. <sup> **Please don't forget, if you feel confident of any of your games during the Saturday weekly event, drop a link in the comment section in the report post next week Sunday** </sup> <br> ##### Game 1 ### @justola1 vs @samostically In a tournament filled with 2000+ players, @justola1 (1796) played a very structural and interesting game of chess to beat @samostically (2156) Let's take a look at some positions in the game. The game started as both players developed their pieces in an open game.  <sub> Move 5, Ng3 </sub> Interestingly fireworks started as early as move 12.Kd2  In this position, Black is a little bit better but nothing concrete. In the game black tried to attack white un castled king but all to no avail  <sub> 21. Qf7??? </sub> Black finally surrendered the advantage after this mistake. White quickly punished the pin with the move 22.Bxe4! Winning a pawn. Although it's still very much playable. However with the little time on black`s clock as a result of beserk. It was hard attacking. Rg7+ 1-0 (Black resigns) ``` <br> #### Game 2 #### IM @tenny-trigah Vs @stayoutoftherz @tenny-trigah won the tournament with 77% win rate however, he faltered in some games. In his 3rd game, He lost to @stayoutoftherz! He did get a revenge on his opponent later in a ridiculous 6 moves win. However, Our second featured game is the 51 moves win by @stayoutoftherz against the New Chess International Master <br>  A typical Nimzo-Indian opening. A classical opening that has been played for so many years. This game is interesting as the opening moves there was a lot of tactical blows from both sides! Starting with Rd1!  While the IM came out victorious in the opening phase. Its important to throw some credit to white for finding the brave continuation after the following move Be4!  White survived this position without losing material but couldn't play so accurately under pressure.  One last chance for white to play kg1 escaping the pin was missed. Black gained the extra piece but the white player was resilient Leading to a difficult ending for black with little time. Rh8+ 1-0 (Black resigns) ``` <br> ### Game 3 IM @maestroask vs @tobijob Our last featured game for round 1 features @maestroask show how strong and dynamic a weapon the bishop pair is.  After a trademark opening where he invites a Queen trade. The game immediately proceed to an endgame where black has the bishop pair.  The game continued nicely with maneuvers and before white could realize, he blundered!  After Ne1? Bd2 wins for black. The game lingered some couple of moves but eventually did end. After Bd3! In the image below White understood he was fighting a lost cause and resigned!
