With the rise in the innovation in technology, the evolution of games has also reached its peak. Games are loved and adored by kids. They play all sort of games. It is even a fun way to learn, experience and grow. Physical games are really good for their physical as well as mental health. But could the same thing be said about video games? And violent ones on top of that? *Herb Kohl*, when interrogated about violent video games, had replied: > *“We cannot and will not ban the creation of violent video games. But, we can prevent the distributing games to children, where their effects can be negative.”* [source](http://www.learnliberty.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/LL-Blog_Rife_VideoGames_1200-1024x576.jpg) ## Playing of Games: ### In the Past: In the past games used to be simple and fun. They used to attract kids of all ages. They taught kids many things. Like the Hopscotch could teach a little kid how to count, while upgrading his jumping abilities. These games were truly innocent and were very beneficial. Kids used to love these games. They brought about no harm. Except a few bruises if they fell, but that was just a part of growing up. They learned how to fall and get back up on their feet and start playing again. ### In the Modern Era: But sadly in the world today, this concept has vanished completely. Now is the era of sitting on your couch with a PSP in your hands. This is the era, where going out to play is considered stressful and playing with Video games has become a trend. And the games that are made today are rated. Especially the violent video games. It is as *Hugh Mackay* had very wisely said: > *“So, if falling crime rates coincide with the rise of violent video games and increasing violence on TV and at the cinema, should we conclude that media violence is causing the drop in crime rates?”* ## Exposition of Violence to a Child: According to Empiricism, man learn from the things they see or experience. If a child from a young age is exposed to violent games, making the player go around town assassinating people then this is truly the parent’s carelessness. Then they become surprised later on in life when they have to witness their child commit heinous crimes. They are unable to comprehend where they lacked in their teaching of morality. %20-%20Scaled%20(65%25).jpg) [source](https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5765991e6b8f5b316be3f34e/t/5768a744bebafb9ef35dcf24/1466476365274/?format=750w) They could never have guessed that letting their children play such harsh games had influenced them to a great extent. According to *Barack Obama*, he was reported to have said: > *“Congress should fund research on the effects that violent video games have on young minds… We do not benefit from ignorance. We do not benefit from not knowing the science.”* ## Influence of such Games: They say the things one learns at his earliest stage he remembers them quite well. And if at a young age he is let to his own devices and is given permission to play these games, later on in his life he would turn more aggressive. He would have a bad attitude. And the parents might stare in horror from which side of the family their child had developed such an attitude. These video games are rated for a reason. Allowing youngsters who have yet to develop their morality to play such violent games might not be such a good idea. ## Conclusion: In the end, it is indeed these violent video games that cause behavioral problems. And the picture motion is even more deeply engraved in their young under developed brains. It is best to avoid buying such violent games in the first place. But even if one has taken possession of one, one should make sure to not let their young ones get their hands on it. It is indeed bad influence. And could even destroy the future of their child. One should be careful in the matters of their children. According to *Darren Aronofsky*, he said that: > *“I think video games and that stuff should be as violent as possible, but age-appropriate. It should be realistic. When it is not realistic you run into kids running around shooting people and not realizing the consequences”.* [source](https://sites.psu.edu/siowfa15/files/2015/10/M1c198ad2439e175e323d910f8be2a129-300x218.jpg)
