Psychology: Difficulty In Making A Change
Hello, Friends!

It's period of an election in my country I hate politics because of its attachment. The word politics to me is a dirty game, end up with killing and corruption. As many do come out with an agenda of change, my understanding still revealed that **change is hard**. If you are good, to change to bad is hard to talk more about bad people claiming of change to good people. Do you notice a change is hard? Wait let me show you some valid point, not in the line of politics but I know you will gain from this piece.

______

As many plans to become a better people, more creative and skilled, though we might get inspired by someone or group, it's actually tough to stick to new behaviors. If you grade yourself today, it's more likely by this time next year you find yourself doing the same thing than performing that new habit with ease.

Have you taken a moment to ask, what's responsible for this? Can I do anything to make **change** easier?

### Let me share this short story

Man challenge himself on remembering names: when this man was in high school and his first day in class with a huge numbers of student he never met before, one of the teacher went around the classroom and asked each person to introduce themselves, all did, and at the end he asked if anyone could remember everyone's name. The man raised his hand and proceeded to go around the classroom and he name all 30 people in that class. All of them in the room were stunned and a lady beside the man declared **I couldn't even remember your own name**.
After this exercise, the man said, that moment was an affirming experience for him. From that moment he felt like, he's the type of person who is very good at remembering people's names.

**What have you done to affirm your skill or your potential?** Before we believe in a new identity, there is a need to prove it to ourselves.

### Habits That Based On Identity

>**The key to open lasting habits is firstly focusing on creating a new identity.** *by samest*

Friends, the reflection of your current identity is your current behavior. How you behave today is your identity which means you're doing today is the mirror image of the type of person you believe that you are: whether consciously or unconsciously.

Here, to change that your behavior for good, you need to take every effort to start believing new things about yourself which simply means build habits that are based on identity.

Again, let me stressed this, building habits that are based on identity are like the setting of goals, you need to be specific because goals are not centered around identity but outcomes. This is confusing? Read again and continue with the mind of I need clearer pictures on this. Let me show you three important layers just like onions with layers, I will open them one after the other for you to see fresh habits in you.

### Three Layers Of Behavior Change

* A Change Of Identity
* A Change Of Outcomes
* A Change Of Processes

These three changes are important in every man's life. The deepest of these changes is **Identity**. This goes with changing what you believe, and it's your self-image which shows how you judge yourself. Your assumption, your beliefs, and biases you hold are associated with this level.

Considering a change of outcomes this follows your results and most of the goals we set are associated along with this level of change.

Lastly, a change of processes. This deals with a change of systems and habits. You need to set your workflow, implement a new routine to achieve better results.

Bringing all these three layers together, identity reveals your belief, outcomes your results(what you get) and processes your habits (what you do). In building habits that last, improvement of one percent is not the problem of whether one system is better or worse than other but the problem is always ***the direction of change**.

If you must change your habits you need to focus on what you want to achieve and when you do this, it's more like habits based on the outcome. If you must do this, you need to begin with a focus on who you wish to become which lead us to two important steps:

* Decision on the type of person you want to become.

* You need to prove it to yourself with small wins.

Changing your habits not hard if you follow these two step above. Can you ask yourself what you stand for? What're your values? What're your principles? These questions are big and important, I know many don't even know where to start from but I'm sure many know what kind of results they wanted and leave vital and important questions that need an answer without attending to any. Although this might work if you know what you are doing, it's just that you are working backward from the results you wanted to the type of person who could get those results. You need to answer this question: if I must get this result, who is the type of person that could get these type of outcomes I wanted? This is a fair question and answering this will help you to succeed.

>**Your Mental Picture Is Your Actual Picture** *by samest*

In conclusion, are you thinking of becoming better at something? Why not prove your identity to yourself rather than looking for an amazing result from your actions. Stop worrying yourself about results, let your worries become your identity, push to become the type of person who can achieve those things you wanted to achieve, let your thinking become a habit based identity and the results will come later.

Thank you.
