Gratitude From a Merry Heart
<div class="text-justify">

Whenever your heart is full of joy, it reflects in your appreciation. There are many things that, if you can think, they will form part of your joy and your appreciation. Most times, the things that people complain about is because of lack of understanding and they have not seen blessings in it, but some other people are wishing to have just a little of what you complain about.

Thanksgiving, just like every other seed, has the ability to be multiplied. When you start to count your blessings, you will realize that there are more reasons to be thankful than reasons not to be (if there is any). Even in your relationship with other people, do not take any little act of kindness for granted, so as not to block your access to a bigger and better acts of kindness in the future.

You will agree with me that your heart will be more drawn to the person that is ever grateful of your acts of kindness than the person that sees it as a right. Just like it is popularly said; "when you appreciate someone for the last goodness, you are indirectly applying for future goodness". Yes, appreciation has a way of creating rooms for more blessings.

I remember a few months past, what happened. There was a particular good I did to my friend. He was not expecting it and I was not under compulsion to do it but I did it anyway. The good was not much as it were, but the way he thanked me sent chills down my spine. You can imagine how glad my heart was, to the extent that I was moved to do bigger thing for him.

You see, just like a friend normally says "Thanksgiving is a multiplier". However, being thankful will almost be impossible if you do not have a merry heart. The gratitude that is acceptable is the one that comes from a joyful soul. Shift your attention from what you think is negative in your life and focus more on the positive aspects of your life.

As a matter of fact, when you think of what your have gained, you will discover that you have gained more than you think you have lost. Even if you have lost a few things, you can still convert it to gratitude because you did not lose everything. Remember this; once your thoughts are set aright, then every other aspect of yourself including your gratitude will follow effortlessly.

Even health-wise, it is healthier to stay joyful than to be sad. If there is any benefit in being joyful, then it is your responsibility to focus your energy on achieving it. Remember, your joy (or lack of it) is entirely in your hands.
