Once you are born into this world, you are already in the middle of a fight whether you like it or not. I remember what a friend once said; "life is basically a warfare for territory, and if you willingly stop putting up a fight for what you want in life, then you will unwillingly be overtaken by what you do not want." These words made so much meaning to me that I realized that there are more things to living than what meets the eyes. The truth is that life will not hand any good thing to you on a fair ground, you have to put actions to demand for it. This is why I believe that success is product of work, not luck.

In your place of work for example, a lot of people are striving for your position. If you "lose your guard" at any moment, you will be surprised how many people are ready to take over. In other to stay relevant, you have to do something to continuously give you an edge; upgrade yourself, put in your best in every task, work as if your life depends on it. Trust me, nothing of value comes without you paying the required cost. If success and greatness is what you want, then you will zero your mind to give your entire being in pursuit of it.

It is worthy to note that in the journey of life, you cannot run away from oppositions. As a matter of fact, they are among the inevitables of life. You have to learn how to put up a fight against it. The presence of opposition is a clear indicator that, a least, you are doing something worthwhile. Of course, no one will cast stones on a tree that is not known to bear any fruit. So if people challenge and oppose you, it should give you a sense of accomplishment to continue what you are doing. Because you are obviously on a right path. You have to see opposition as the examination that you need to write and overcome in order to have access to the next class. If you avoid exams, then you are not ready to move higher.

I remember the combat game I used to play when I was much younger. The game has to do with going for a mission to recover a treasure. When you start the game, you could almost play the entire first stage without meeting any opposition, but when you enter stage 2 and when you begin to approach the treasure, you will be met with intense opposition which you have to fight your way through. If at any point, you draw back from engaging the challenges, you will lose the progress you have made so far. Similarly, in life, if you quit along the road, then the past efforts may become futile.

Everyday you live, you will be faced with one form of challenge that you need to contend with. Even when you ascend higher in life, you will also experience higher level of opposition. The reason for this is that you now have something bigger to live for and a greater thing is already at stake. You have to know that the world will not hand you the victory you need just like that, you have to prove that you need it by taking relevant steps. There may be times when you may even feel like giving up, but when you look at how far you have come and what you already have in plans to achieve, you will encourage yourself.

In order to go through the hustles and tussles of life and to navigate effectively and victoriously through the battle-filled terrains of life, you need to possess a warrior's mindset - a mentality that never settles for less, a resolution within your mind not to quit at the sight of opposition, and the spirit of "I can do," that resides within you, which will make you to stop at nothing to achieve your desired goals. The first step towards all these is to have a clear objective and a clear picture of what you want to achieve. It is by having something to drive you that you will feel the need to put actions.

To hit your target, you must first have a target in the first place. To fulfil a dream, you should have a dream. It is when you have resolved to pursue after your dream that you will begin to make progress. Any great achievement will always require a first step. Until you have taken the first step and keep following it with other steps, then you are not ready for success. Always have this in mind as I conclude with it:
