Know Your Limits, And Work On Your Strength
<div class="text-justify">

A lot of times, when you hear motivational speakers talk, they tend to make you feel like you are almighty and invincible, and this may also be viewed remotely as self-deception. The truth is that your human nature supports limitations. Well, it is okay, but you need to know the extent you can push through before you get to your limits, then you need to know what your strengths and weaknesses are. Believe me, it is easier to consolidate on your strengths and make an impact with them, than to edit your weaknesses. The truth is that, as much as there are places where your strengths are, you should also know that you are not without flaws and weaknesses.

When you know that you are not all-powerful and that you are human, you will know how to channel your efforts aright. As a matter of fact, one of the major undoings of a lot of people is not their limitations per se, but the fake belief of perfection. Yes, we are all working towards achieving a state of perfection, but as it stands, you have not achieved it yet, so focus on where you could score a high point, and not where you will struggle in futility to beat against the wind. When you discover your areas of strength and work towards improving it even better, you will become unstoppable. When you have extensively developed the areas of your strength, it will make up for your limitations. But if you try to convince yourself that you do not have flaws, then you will live your life in a mirage.

Imagine if your height is 5 feet and a few inches, and you can play football well, but instead of you focusing to develop your football skills, you are busy convincing yourself that you can play basketball professionally. Okay, how will you measure up to others that are over 6 feet tall? You will just end up struggling in futility because you have left your areas of high-point to focus on your low-points. One of the reasons why some people struggle to make it in life is because they are not featuring in the area that they are fully engraced for, but rather they are where their strength cannot carry them. The truth is that there is a kind of ease that comes when you are doing what you are naturally built for. But this starts with discovery of oneself, their abilities, and the strengths.

Do not allow someone's choice of actions to make you believe that you have to also act that way. Someone's standards should not become your reality. A fish will not have a problem to swim in water because that is what it is naturally built for. In the same way, a bird will not have problems flying. However, the problem will lie when the fish decides to make the standards of the bird its reality, or when the bird wants to copy the fish and swim - the struggle will become real.

I remember when I was in secondary school, in the SS1, every student was meant to take all the subjects (both the science and art subjects) to know the one they are good at. Throughout that session, I discovered that I did not flow well with the art subjects but I did excellently well in the science subjects. It was then that I realized my strengths, so no one forced me to go for a science discipline. Imagine if I had insisted and went for an art discipline, it may have been difficult all the way through. This is why I normally tell people "know your strength and act towards it."

You do not have to be invincible to create an impact in life. You do not also need to be a master of all to be relevant - you can master one and be relevant in that particular field. Ronaldo, for example, has mastered the act of football and has become a name in the sport, but it will not be so if he wants to add basketball, volleyball, rugby to it. Most time, trying to gain mastery and perfection of everything at once may lead to distraction and the person may end up not mastering any. So learn to focus more on what you are built for and gain mastery in it.
