The Power Of Determination
By way of introduction; "determination"; in my own simple definition, is a state of having a fixed purpose. That is, a deliberate and intentional effort to effect the kind of change you desire.

We've so much heard of the story of Thomas Edison, and how he refused to give up on his experiment, even with the presence of many failed attempts. Something kept him going; and you won't be wrong to infer that it was an unparalleled "determination" that kept him. Did he finally succeed? Of course he did; otherwise he won't be referenced here.

So you see, determination does not see "impossibilities". It does not also see limitations in oppositions, rather it sees opportunities in oppositions.

### Will there be oppositions in your life's journey?

The answer is an emphatic "YES". As a matter of fact, the presence of opposition is an indication that you're actually proceeding in the right direction. I learnt this from video games: You may not meet oppositions if you're moving on the wrong direction. But when you're moving towards your target, you would be greeted by oppositions.

But another fact is; you don't sit in the limbo and hope for oppositions to fizzle away, you have to fight the oppositions. The story of Ben Underwood is a practical example of someone that fought the course of opposition and won gallantly.

`At the age of 2, he was diagnosed with retinal cancer, and by his 3rd year, he got his eyes removed surgically. But contrary to nature, he fought his opposition, and he developed a super echolocation ability, which made him to literally "see" with his ears. He made clicking sounds, and measured the acoustic reverberations from the sound, which he used to navigate his way; just like the bat.`

He was able to achieve daredevil feats that even some people with eye sight may not do. Feats like: mountain biking, skating, and other stunts, just by echolocation.

Some people see determination as risk; but may I remind you that "life" itself is more than an enough risk. And it is even riskier not to take risks.

In my opinion, the risk is the **price** you have to pay for the **prize**. But it doesn't stop at the willingness to pay the price, but the ability to discern what price to pay.

Finally, what happens when you try but fail?

Well, you're not a failure if you tried and didn't succeed. But you're a failure when you refuse to try again.

Remember this quote:

>It is better to fail at doing something than to succeed at doing nothing. Prof Emeka Anyanwu

So my advice here is; keep trying, don't stop trying, try again until you make it.
