The Responsibilities You Need to Take Today
<div class="text-justify">

Life is basically an adventure in responsibilities and risks. There are responsibilities that you have to take today so that you will not end up as a liability tomorrow. As a matter of fact, your success in life (or lack of it) is a direct function of the responsibilities you took or avoided. The truth is that you are exclusively responsible for the results you see in your life - this is as a result of what you have done today. One of the indicators of maturity is the act of taking actions and bearing the responsibilities of the results of the actions.

It is worthy to note that for the kind of success that you require, there is no responsibility that is too much to bear and there is no price that is too big to pay. If for example, you have an exam to sit for, common sense should tell you that you have the responsibility to study and prepare well for the exam. The preparation is to make you to perform well. That is, it is either you take the pains of preparing and avoid the pain of regrets or the reverse will be the case.

Each time you try to circumvent the responsibilities that you are supposed to take, it may lead to negative results and may bring regrets. Avoidance of responsibility is always counterproductive. Obviously, there is no way to prove that you are mature and that you are ready for adulthood if you constantly avoid responsibilities. There are things that people can help you with but there are things that you must do on your own. I remember a particular popular adage:

> If you want something done the best way, then you have the responsibility to do it on your own.

If you have ever observed the successful people, you will observe one thing - they are always quick to take responsibilities. Yes, the secrets to the glory that you see in the life of any successful person can be gotten from their stories. Their stories will always have a common denominator, which is "responsibilities." For everything you want to achieve in life, there are always terms and conditions attached to it. Imagine someone that wants to become a sailor but is scared to learn how to swim, then he is not ready to actualize his dreams.

As much as there is price for everything you want to do, there is also a time that is attached to it. Paying the right price at the wrong time may also be counterproductive. Your responsibility should put timing into consideration too. Take this instance: if you want to be in the football academy, there is a limit to the age that can be accepted, and anything beyond that age will not be allowed entrance. Imagine if you have the passion for football but you delayed untill you are in your mid-forties before you make a move, you may not make it to the academy. No wonder this saying has it that:

> Delay defeats equity.

When you delay the actions that you are meant to perform now until a later time, it can be equated to inaction, which is also an act of evading responsibility. The more you take responsibilities, the more responsibilities will be entrusted into your hands and more responsibilities come with more opportunities for excellence.
