Decision taking is part of life. It's even an integral part of human life and this is because the current state where we find ourselves is as a result of our past decision and what this means is that, if our past decision was good, then the consequences are what we are witnessing right now and vice versa.

So, decision taking is very crucial in determining the kind of life one wants to live or the kind of life one is living. So, in making decisions, we must be very careful and decisive.

So, this topic before us is a very good topic that has to do with our lives based on the fact that the decision we take today can either make or mar our tomorrow. 

From my own personal experiences,  decision taking has taken its toll on me, both positively and negatively. There were decision I took in the past that really benefited me and my fortune and there's some I took that really got me off the radar.  But one thing about me is that, no matter the outcome of my decision,  I take the responsibility for it. I hate pointing accusing  fingers on others when it comes to the aftermath of my decision making.

Sometimes ago, I was in a dilemma about making a decision. Though, back then, I was always in a haste to take decisions and this one experience I want to share with us was part of those decisions I took in a haste. Then, I was about to round up my program at the university. So, the life after school was beckoning on me as I did not know what to do.

So, I decided to invest the little I had into a foodstuff business. But before,  I had informed my dad of my decision, and in response to what I told him about my decision,  he had a contrary opinion and advised me not to go on with my decision.

But since I have made up my mind, I didn't yield to his counsel as I did what seemed right to me in a haste. When I started the business everything was going on well, but suddenly everything changed and the business collapsed. I was so touched that all my investments in the business just vanished like a vapor.  It's so disheartening, but instead of me pointing accusing fingers at people, I took the failure of the business on myself and not only that, I also learnt from it.

So, since then, taking decisions for me has always been a crucial moment and this was because of my last experience with my last investment.  Now, whenever I'm to take any decision being it major or minor decision. The first thing I do is to exercise patience. No matter how good that thing may seem to me, instead of rushing into it like before, I used to take my time to look at the prospect of such a thing, being it business or any other thing. 

Apart from exercising patience, another thing I have been doing is to weigh the options before me and go with the best. Weighing options has really helped me in making decisions. Recently a friend of mine introduced me to a business which I know nothing about.

This business has to do with farming, which is quite lucrative from the way he presented it to me, but instead of me going for the business, I opted for another business that I have once tested before and this didn't just happen, but due to my weighing of the two options, I decided to go with the one I'm familiar with. Unlike before where I will not even weigh my options. Then, I would even abandon the one working for me and embrace the new one I know nothing about. Such was my act of decision taking in the past.

Lastly, before making any of my decisions, the first thing I do is to consult Almighty God for direction and not only that, I used to always consult experts that know more than I do in the field of what I intend to do and this has really helped in my decision taking recently. Though it might not be 100% smooth. But my decision making process has really improved compared to what it used to be.
