Greetings! https://img.leopedia.io/DQmWcUpcpPMYHLfevWin66aUiaCXFjomYW11vRBicvnfXC4/IMG-20250523-WA0041.jpg Though a hobby, but in one way or the other, there's no way we would not have the cause to travel and what this means is that, traveling is part of life and almost if not all human travel. It's the purpose of our traveling that differs from one person to the other. Some travel just for fun and as a hobby while others travel on a business trip. So, our traveling depends on what purpose we have in mind. Also, we have means of transportation as we cannot but travel without making use of these means of transportation which includes the air, land and sea. Any which way we chose to travel, may Almighty God protect both our going out and coming in. Having said much about traveling, let me share with us my recent travel experience. A few months ago, I returned to my base, a village in Osun state, Nigeria. Though, I was bred and brought up in the village, but since I left the village years back. That's around 17years back, I have not visited the place and that's been since I lost my mum. But recently, I decided to attend a get together party organized by my secondary school mates which was our set and I happened to be the head boy. So, last month in April, I embarked on the journey which started with informing my beautiful wife of my intention to travel to the village. When she heard about my plan, she was surprised as she couldn't believe me attending the get together party having missed the earlier versions of the party on so many occasions. So, having informed her, I went on the trip, but not without adequate preparation as I would be spending not less than three days on the trip. So, i made sure i packed all i needed for the trip inside my travelling back which included my clothing, underwear, deodorant and cream and other needed materials. Also, I made sure I got things for the villagers most especially those friends of my late mum. So, having planned and prepared for the journey for almost a week, I stepped out and set for the journey the following week and instead of driving my car, I decided to go to the park and boarded a bus going to my village. This I did just to avoid the stress of driving and also, to reignite the nostalgic feeling of how we used to go to the park and board a bus going to our village in those days. Though, things have changed as we now have fancy buses and cars playing the road and also, it's on my way to the village in the public transit that I realized that the untarred road to our village has been tarred, this really made me happy. So also, when we were on transit en route to the village, I had the fun of my life and this came as a result of my engagement with people on the transit who made my day on the bus. On the transit, I and my co travellers had so much fun by having and engaging in series of discussions ranging from sport to entertainment, fashion and most importantly, politics where people shared the views on the political development of the country, aside that, we also have a stint discussion about the economy of our country and before we knew it, we have got to the village. Thank God we arrived safely, “I exclaimed.” So, we all alighted and I exchanged my contacts with some of those people I had discussion with before we all left for our various places and destinations in the village. Seriously, it was fun to embark on such a journey. Though everywhere has changed, I could still feel what the village used to be back then in the present time. https://img.leopedia.io/DQmcbTc3ZAsUtDmGXULRufvQu8PoCV9WK4oX86EcRwsuzJd/IMG-20250523-WA0033.jpg So, I headed straight home and I met my old father who was happy to receive a warm welcome, though he was expecting me to come along with my wife but I told him she was unavoidably absent because of her tight schedule. He prayed for me and was welcome with a delicious meal by his new wife and by extension my step mother. So, throughout the night, my dad and I had a series of lengthy discussions and before we could go to bed, it's in the early morning of the second day of my arrival. I was even allowed to go and sleep just because of the program I came home for. So, I went to bed and prayed and afterwards slept, but before we knew it, the day had broken and I got up to pray after praying, I went to greet my papa and got prepared for the event. Thank God I got all needed for the journey along with me, this really made everything easy for me. So, after taking my bath, I dressed up, but as i was about to the leave the house, my step mother came in with pounded yam and egusi soup, but i couldn't eat it as i was not used to eating heavy food in the morning and this I have to explain to her so as not to get her annoyed, she agreed with me and said, “ city life is different from ours.” I smiled and said yes. So, having explained myself to her, I headed out of the house as it's getting late and in no time, I got to the venue of the party which was the school hall inside the school premises. So, immediately I got to the school hall, I met with my old friends who I have not seen for a number of years and right there at the venue, we exchange pleasantries and embraced ourselves, it's indeed a nice time for us to come together again and share the old memories and what life has been to each and everyone of us after our departure from the village. Though the program had started and was ongoing, the side discussion that we had was even a program in itself as we could not fully concentrate on the main program. This was all we did throughout the program and to be sincere, I really enjoyed myself throughout the program. It's at the program I got that our senior girl has travelled abroad and our principal Mr Adeojo had died. This really pained me to the marrow and this was because of my likeness for the man, but what could we do when death comes knocking. So, after everything we all left for our various destinations, though, we've all left, but the memories of the event still lives on in my heart. So, I took a bike to my father's house and I was welcome home. He asked me about the party and I also discussed how the party went with him. He was happy I was there as he said he used to be unhappy not seeing me in the past. I apologized to him for not coming to those ones held in the past and promised him I would be coming to the subsequent ones. So, after our discussion, he excused me to go and rest, which I did, and in the evening, my step mother brought my food to my room and I ate, after which I slept off. https://img.leopedia.io/DQmQLEAmSydM7ERwp6xooC7KWwv4M9DTgkzWcu1n6Hovfkz/IMG-20250523-WA0031.jpg On the following morning, which happened to be the third day, my dad and I, after praying and eating our breakfast, strolled to his farm and seriously, I could not resist the feelings of the past as we both passed by the bushes and the palm trees on our way to his plantain farm. When we got there, we met those farm workers working on the farm and we greeted them, we both inspected their works and take a rest before returning back home and it's already late before we could get to the house, so, in getting back home, we took our bath and take a rest having worked ourselves tired. So, having rest, we had little discussion about my the family and other aspect of lives and it's after that we are our dinner together and I left for my room to prepare for my journey back home and immediately it's morning I prayed and committed my journey unto God's hand and went straight to my father's room where I met my stepmother also and bade them farewell and afterwards I headed straight to the park where I boarded bus to my place in the city to reunite with my lovely wife who has missed me from the three day's journey to the village, though, she would not allow me to rest while on the journey with her calls, but thank God, I'm now back home and for the gift I got for the villagers, I made sure I handed it over to my stepmother to distribute it accordingly to the villagers and most especially my late mum's friends. So, I enjoyed the journey and would be looking forward to another version of it, but this time around, it would be a vacation traveling with my darling wife who I have missed so much.
