One thing about life is that we're all striving for the best and to get the best out of life would and may not come with ease, but with passion. Though fame is good, one thing that can lead one to that fame is passion. Passion is a drive to have fame, but these days, people run after fame before passion which should not be, it's like taking five steps before one. Instead of taking a step at a time, before now takes hundreds and that's they don't last long as before again.

So, back to the prompt of the week which is all about what the upcoming artist chooses or preferred between passion or fame. To me and in my own opinion, I would say both are the choice of most of the upcoming artist, but saying both is not enough to justify my point and this is because if we are to go by percentage, I would say, 80% of the upcoming artist will go for fame, while 20% would go with passion and this is why I said both, as both are preferred choice of the upcoming artist. Had it been none of them for any of the two choices, it would have been safer for me to go with one.

Having said this, I would say the majority of the upcoming artists preferred fame to passion, but not all of them. This their preference can be seen in the way they behave and relate. Most of them even before the start of their career have dreams bigger than those in the industry before them. Some of them want to be the burnaboy,  the wizkid and the Davido of this world even before coming to the industry. They have forgotten that these sets of singers have passed through a lot before becoming what they are.  

Aside that, if you look at the trend of music in the past, one would see that, it's passion driven unlike today where most of the upcoming artist are after fame and if then is compared to now, on would realize that, it's the passion driven time that had brought stability and fame to those that have earned it among the singers or musician.

Even some of their contemporaries that were also after fame back then couldn't survive the heat of the industry as well as the heat of their own time which has really cost  them their place and position in the industry. So, it's not now that chasing after fame got started, it's always been like that from the time immemorial,  but it's only those who chose the path of passion that stayed strong and kept on  moving.

Though, it's always been like that for the up and coming artiste to chase fame and not passion, but it's so common nowadays when compared to then and that's why you see most of the up and coming artiste not lasting in the music industry. Though they are talented, their lack of passion has made them irrelevant to their development and growth in the musical world.

Some time ago, I heard of a talented guy who was into music. This guy has all it takes to make it big in the music industry, but instead of sticking with his talent and allowing passion to be his drive, he chose to chase and follow the path of fame and this was what brought him down from the pinnacle of his career.

Though, chasing fame isn't bad, but it's better to let passion drive us and most of us that are up and coming artists to our glorious destination than fame. One thing that is so sure is that, when we allow and choose passion over fame, then fame will definitely come.
