Time changes everything
Even your taste buds. Nothing is constant in this world. I hated what my mom cooked so much that I skipped my meals whenever I could. No matter how much she tries, she could never get the recipes right to satisfy my taste buds. I remember, once she said that, there would be a time when I would die to eat her food and sadly that time came as soon as I got married.

I had to cook by myself and I am not ashamed of saying that I am a bad cook. I cannot cook the simplest of food to taste good. I am so terrible at cooking that even after 12 years of trying my hands at cooking, I cook terribly bad. Though my husband and kids are now used to the food that I make, my taste buds refuse to satisfy themselves.

All these years, I had no option but eat what I cook to ensure that I don't die of hunger. Since last year I have been staying close to my parents and every day I call them to check what my mother had made for lunch and dinner and whenever there is something that I love, then I waste no time in going there and filling my tummy. Even the best of the best restaurants dont cook like my mom does.

The journey from 'i hate what you cook' to 'i just love what you cook' was very short. I now wonder, why I did not like what my mom cooked as a kid. My mom gives me a sarcastic smile whenever I tell her that she makes awesome fish curry.
