Pierrot o Arlequín, es un personaje nacido en Italia y recreado innumerables veces por diversos artistas. Representa un payaso que entretiene a su auditorio generalmente con pantomima, y habitualmente se dibuja el rostro con colores pálidos y una lágrima acabada de salir, que para muchos se traduce en el sufrimiento o dolor interno del ser que se encierra y se desdobla para mostrar al mundo lo contrario.
