# That Dosa cost us 1200 rupees...

When it comes to health check up, we often try to find out a trustworthy place, without worrying too much about the cost, because now a days, medicals are even run by marketing people. I was shocked to know from one of my doctor friend that big hospitals and clinics have a target based scheme that directly decides the incentives that all the people on their chain get, starting from their marketing department (Seriously, why would a hospital need a marketing department !!). And they never promote cost effectiveness compared to other facilities, rather they promote quality because they know where to hit - but the ground reality is not the same as promised. People will never hesitate to pay extra if they are convinced but we go by our own research, after having gone through several bad experiences.

The lady had to go through some regular check ups and we prefer the GenX clinic as we know the doctor personally who is a friend to one of my doctor friend. Since they don't have an advanced online booking facility, I had to go in the morning and book a slot for her.

And she is quite comfortable going to this place, because of the personal care and attention given - we often tend to ask questions and they politely answer to all our queries. Unfortunately, most doctors don't prefer to answer all queries and may be because since decades, our system has been that way - people don't tend to ask a doctor and rather simply rely on them. It's sad that, the ethics has changed dramatically, but practices have not.

After staying empty stomach till noon, she desperately wanted to eat something and we found out this nice restaurant nearby. **Parking our car outside, we never realized what was about to come our way.**

Coming out, we picked some sweets and chocolates for the kids - they were left alone at home and asked not to quarrel - if they want rewards.

And then she wanted to pick some household stuffs and we have this govt run cooperative shop that gives nice discount which most people don't know.

She was excited to see the hefty discount offered and grabbed many things - ladies probably have that instinct by birth :) They would always love to save as much as possible and after billing when we came out to our car, it was not there....

For the first time I got the pinch of the car taken away without my knowledge - you can imagine the feelings. We went back to the restaurant and asked, if they have any CC TV AND what we heard shocked us - the municipal corporation has opened a parking facility nearby and they want people to keep their car there - else they will pick up and you have to pay a hefty fine, so go and check there. And how far it is ? It's half a mile from here. You should have told us when we came to your restaurant, don't you think, you owe that much to your customers ? 

Anyways, who cares, holding all the goods we walked to the parking facility and the car was locked with a wheel lock and kept at the front.

Paying an hefty fine of 1200₹, we learnt a lesson for the very first time in our city - next time don't park in that area. Our system and governance is so pathetic taking the advantage of their power......

Come on lady, that Dosa you ate cost us this much.......
