# A lot changes as we grow - for me, the purpose in small little things are now making more relevance. As we grow older, our perception changes about things and people around us, and changing ourselves is the only way forward. For me the purpose of life is slowly moving towards small little things that brings joy and part of that is taking care of parents to my best extent, considering it as a privilege as well as priority. In the society around me I see many people, who prefer to focus on their career or opportunities and give priority to build wealth, but barely they realize, they will be useless at one point of life. It's better to realize that now beforehand because we all will go through that phase of life. Instead of focusing solely on accumulating wealth, I rather prioritize fulfillment and lasting happiness by serving and improving the quality of our life and close relationships. Mom has suffered a lot and hesitates to go to doctor unless absolutely needed, but that is where we have disagreements, which is good for us, because at the end I win by convincing her that prevention is better than cure. I have decided to have a check up at least once in a year and give them that Influvac vaccine as per the doctor's recommendation as I have seen it working to prevent cold and cough during the winter. Taking the doctor's appointment, pushing them to get ready, driving them to the Clinic in the Capital, and making sure everything is timely taken care gives a whole different level of satisfaction. The lady does her part by preparing their choice of Menu in the lunch, by managing to bring everything on her own. Taking care of our parents is a common interest that we both enjoy - hopefully our kids will learn from this. Her doctor has been very helpful in this journey, treating her since last three decades. He has saved her twice from Pneumonia, and answers to all my queries, which I consider as a symbol of a good doctor. At times we even directly call him and go to his residence - he understands the urgency. Even though Mom was denying to do the PFT (Pulmonary function test), WE made sure everything is alright. Leaving them sit on the third floor, I brought two vaccines from ground floor and kept it on the doctor's table. Seeing that, one of his attendant came toward me and advised to hold them - otherwise someone else may take that away - seriously ? People steal vaccines ? What kind of misery they are living in !! The clinic is located at heart of the city and has lot of good doctors in several areas - they charge a little higher, but that felt OK for the convenience as you can save time. And they do give discount on medicine like every other store - you will have to ask for that.
