 Cucumber is a great vegetable and can be had both in raw and cooked form. The best thing is that it can be eaten by people who are suffering from ailments too. Cucumber is a cooling agent and so it can help cool the body especially during the dry summer days. Seeds can be planted without much of a hassle and saplings sprout within days. It is a creeper plant and grows on the ground. When the vegetable starts growing in size, it would be nice to keep a leaf underneath it so that it does not become bad easily. Do keep checking it occasionally to see if there are insects around. The vegetable is fit to harvest when the outer skin is almost yellow in several areas. It can be used in curries or salads.
