The issue here is not about receiving a salary, but promises a spiritual reward from God for a job well done.

So it is important to remember that the CHRISTIAN LIFE, like all SERVICE that we do in the church or outside the church, is FOR THE LORD.

We live for Christ.

We work for Christ.

We die for Christ.

The apostle Paul also used the analogy of the farmer using the image of the sower and the one who collects, to compare it to what we do in this life.

(Galatians 6: 7-9) "Do not be deceived: no one can mock God. What goes around comes around. He who sows in evil desires, from his evil desires will pick up a harvest of death. He who sows in the Spirit will gather a harvest of eternal life from the Spirit. 8 9 So we should not tire of doing good; for if we are not discouraged, in due time we will reap. "God Speaks Today

So the farmer picks what he has sown
