The day had finally arrived for the minting of the blockstars project.  To be honest I don't even recall how I found this project, but I loved the name from the jump and decided that I'd like to experience a project that is using SOL instead of ETH for a change.

The impact that using SOL rather than ETH on the success, financially on the project is interesting to me as well.  Many believe that ETH based NFT projects is where all the money is, and technically they are right. However, success can always be had in other markets, even if the pie to work from is smaller.

## Why Not Have the Experience

**Magic of Eden** is the site Blockstars is using so this allowed me to have a few new experiences.


+ 1) Need to download a Phantom Wallet
+ 2) Need to buy some SOL and send it to new Phantom Wallet
+ 3) Connect to Magic of Eden and Mint

### Minting

The cost and speed of minting on Magic of Eden was a joy compared to Ethereum I can tell you that.

I was able to mint 5 blockstars one after another in that matter of a few minutes and it cost me roughly .06 SOL

Are you kidding me? That is like $7!!!!  I can't sniff an ETH project for that type of gas fee.  I honestly don't see how SOL, Polygon and other chains won't keep taking market share from ethereum and opensea up until ETH 2.0 is releases.

But that is nor here nor there.

### What BlockStars Did I Get?

Well, let's just say the luck of the draw may have not been to kind to me.

I still need to dig through rarity percentages when available, but based on the instruments my blockstars play, I am less than excited.....

#### No rockstar type instruments on that board

Ideally I was hoping for a drummer, guitarist or lead singer as those are key components to a rock band.  However, I ended up with a flute player, bongos and trumpet amongst other things.

Maybe people will need these for their bands, but I don't see offers knocking down my door in the coming months.

I may see if I can flip these out for a small quick profit once the public sale is done, assuming this sells out.

I was part of the whitelist pre-sale, in the first 25 minutes 13% has been minted.  Don't have a gauge for if that is good or not as this is my first SOL based project as mentioned.
