# *Hail to the Hive!* I had to do another long supply run on foot today as Badger the Narrowboat is still trapped on a section of canal in Warwick due to padlocked lock gates. So seeing as how I was on foot by the canal I decided to take a closer look at one of the aqueducts that we have passed over several times since being in the area.  This aqueduct takes the canal over the River Avon. It is still a weird feeling being on a boat high above things but Very cool at the same time.  The canal system in the UK still amazes me. 2000 miles lf man made, hand dug waterway. Tunnels, bridges and aqueducts still in use over 200 years later. Incredible engineering that has left a great and enduring legacy. Now no longer used for transporting goods but still alive with pleasure boats and liveaboards. It’s a great alternative to living in a house or an apartment and if you don’t like your neighbors then you can just move slowly away to a different spot.  We’ve taken to it incredibly well and the history of it all combined with natural surroundings makes for an interesting environment to travel around and keeps the everyday things such as shopping today, interesting as there’s a lot of variety. Changing scenery. City living, country living all rolled into one as you can chug off slowly and be in completely different surroundings within a short space of time. Waking up in new places , exploring the new surroundings. Taking peeks under the aqueducts. I love it.
