# Hail to the Hive!


I’m getting a little braver. I sent the drone over 2km away this time, New Years bravado maybe? Nevertheless it’s nice to have more trust in the technology and it inspires me to do more with it.

I launch from the roof of the house where we are at as it gives me a stronger signal from controller to drone and on this occasion I didn’t lose signal once, which was great.

The cloud cover today provided and interesting view of big shadows cast from the rolling clouds moving slowly above. The shadows covering large areas below, a huge shadow surrounded by sunlit ground.

It’s a lovely and relaxing sight to see and it makes you reexamine the scale of everything you are capturing giving you a real pause for thought. Not unlike that feeling you get staring at the stars ( usually when a little drunk) and thinking about your minute place in the huge complexity and enormity of everything.

I used to be very tense and stressed flying the drone, full of fear and anxiety. Now I actually find it very relaxing and will decide to do it almost as a sort of meditation of sorts.
