# Hail to the Hive! Living on a narrowboat with no permanent mooring does present a few challenges. Of course there’s the issues with making sure your fresh water tank can be refilled and the toilet and garbage emptied. Grocery shopping, diesel and everyday supplies. But there is a,so the issue with having to keep moving.  You can’t be in any one location for longer than two weeks at a time. Usually we are always meandering and this proves to be no problem at all but we do need to be in the Leicester area for a prolonged period this time for various reasons so we now need to head out for a bit and then head back in.  So today we enlisted the help of me old mucker @mingetoot to get through a few locks as we exited the city. 5 locks to be precise. The plan is to stay here a few days move out a bit further for a few days then onto the canal facility a little further out to empty and re fill. Then slowly return.  Considering yesterday was a little chilly with the wind we couldn’t have planned it better as today was superb. We had a nice time making our way out of the city, chatting to the numerous people walking along the canal enjoying the weather, and negotiated the 5 locks with ease. Then went for a pint.  A thoroughly pleasant day and a lesson in how to make the most of what we have. Enjoy the tasks that have to be done. Share them with friends and booze, add a dash of sunshine and boom.
