# Hail to the Hive!

I left my DJI Mavic 2 drone back in the UK and borrowed @diveratt’s DJI mini 2 with a few bits and bobs and I have to say that the little adaptations @diveratt made has made the user experience so much more enjoyable. So much so I have gone from hardly flying a drone to flying almost every day.

I was never particularly happy with the monile phone interface and the mavic 2 controller and always found it a fiddly set up and an annoyingly small screen. With the mini 2 the interface is way better and @diveratt 3D printed a simple attachment that allowed me to use my old i pad.

It simply hooks underneath the top of the screen holder allowing a much larger tablet to be inserted instead of a phone. Its bloody marvelous to use now.

The while controller unit with I pad feels so secure and solid and with the big screen it is very easy to view what you are filming in much clearer detail.

It also makes fiddling with the settings easier while in flight which makes for a much more rounded user experience and I have no qualms now prodding different features without fear of pressing the wrong thing with my sausage fingers.

Caveman meets tech, mission success.

Another handy thing with the bits and bobs is this 3 battery charger. Very compact and easy to carry with you. With every flight limited to just over 20 mins due to battery life this helps prolong the flying enjoyment with a quick landing and battery change pitstop and zooops you’re back in the air again.

My plan tomorrow is to get up early and climb onto the roof ( I know madness but if it’s ok for Santa 🎅  then it’s ok for me) and try and film the sunrise on Christmas Day.

If I spot any sleighs and reindeer in the air I can give chase with the drone in sport mode but I think this is highly unlikely as I think I I skipped the naughty list and went straight to being black listed many moons ago. So Santa is a fat fascist in my book 🤣.
