#### Proposal Description
Open-source universe is not only about software development. We can find tons of open-source projects, including hardware stuff. There are tons of makers who present useful projects, those projects are then built by other makers, etc. But original authors never get rewarded for their inventiveness, no matter the website they present their project on.

At the beginning, I was thinking of [a way to reward people who create 3D printing models](https://steemit.com/@sebbbl/dprint-an-utopian-io-section-for-makers), but then I thought it should be more challenging.

So I went to websites who present awesome projects from ingenuous makers, and I noticed makers themselves were not rewarded, but websites use their posts as an opportunity to add affiliate links for buying the spare parts necessary to the project. To be brief, websites make money thanks to clever people but don't reward them as they deserve to be.

So my point is that @utopian-io could reward makers for their open-source projects.

#### Examples of ways it could work
As we usually do for submitting work for Utopian, makers would use a #maker tag, using a specific template. This one could be as follow :

**Additional categories**
Project owners could also make 3D printable files requests for use in their projects, using a #task-3d tag, which template would be similar to the #task-graphics template. Thus, 3D designers could also be rewarded (currently they are not on the existing platforms).

Existing categories (ideas, development, bug-hunting, documentation) would be applicable to the #maker category.

#### Review example
1) Utility of the project : "Real added value", "Helping some people", "Niche", "No utility"
2) Graphics : "A lot of pictures illustrating the model", "Some pictures", "No pictures"
3) Materials : "Exhaustive List with providers", "Some items are listed", "Not enough details"
4) Plans : "Great quality", "Missing some elements", "Totally incomplete"
5) Tutorial : "All steps clearly explained", "Some steps are missing", "Not reproductible easily"
6) Files : "Everything required", "Missing some files", "Incomplete and not reproductible"
7) Additional Github credits : "All repositories credited", "no credits"

#### Benefits
As developers/graphists/translators are encouraged to participate and produce quality content/enhancements thanks to @utopian-io, makers could be as well. Lots of them have really great ideas, and share them for free without ever getting rewarded as they should be. A makers category on Utopian would correct that lack.
