Datta Maata 150: It is wrong to blame anyone or any path unnecessarily

Many complain that there are several groups of people who believe that there are several theories in the world and that all such theories are contrary to each other. They criticize such groups of people who support their theory and religion. Each and everyone is busy in their own world! Sage Maithra is the one who gave the realisation to those who mistook in the above manner.
Once, a king named Vajranga went to sage Maithra to have his darshan. While they were in conversation, the king said, "O revered one! One sage says that truth is supreme, another says that charity is supreme. One more says that devotion is supreme and another opines that the name of Rama is powerful. Some other declares that Shiva is greatest. Do you feel that all of these sages have had the realisation of truth? Do you say that they strictly adhere to truth? If yes, then all of the sages must speak alike. Isn't it?"
Meanwhile, the lunch time has arrived and the conversation ended in between. Soon after the meals, the sage said to the king that he too would come along with him to the city. He also said that they can continue the conversation sometime later. The king let the sage sit in his chariot. He wanted to resume the discussion since they already decided to do so. However, that topic was forgotten since the sage was describing about the trees and animals that were coming their way.
Meanwhile, a hunter came across the chariot and gave some offerings to the king. He offered salutations to the sage sitting in the chariot and asked, "What are hymns?" The sage did not answer anything instead looked at the king innocently. The king then said to the hunter, "Hymns are the language of God. Only if we call him in that language, he will respond."
After traveling a while, they reached a village. Few farmers in that village gave gifts to them and they too asked the same question that the hunter asked the sage. He once again could not answer. The king repeated that hymns are God's words and said that this is the reason that they are so powerful. After travelling further, few educated citizens in another city asked the same question again. This time too, the king answered that hymns are God's words which contain the seed letters. While they were approaching the kingdom, few Vedic scholars blessed the king, offered salutations to the sage and asked the same question. As usual, this time too the king, after thinking what to speak, said, "All that you speak are hymns. Aren't they?" The sage smiled and said, "Dear children, the Vedic hymns are those that are used to conduct the experiment called Yagnas/rituals.The king also agreed. After the students left, the sage said to the king, "O king! I feel like you lack the adherence to truth. You have answered differently for the same question right in front of me. Your answers were different. This implies that you actually do not know what hymns are. Such being the case, you should have confessed that you do not know about it. Why did you not do that?" The angry king replied, "O revered one! Will the hunter understand if I say that the hymns are the words used for the experiment called yagna? Should we not answer according to the level/capability of the one who listens?" The sage smiled and said, "What you said is correct. Similarly, when the ancient sages were asked which one is greatest, they answered according to the level of the one who listens. Based on this, they said that charity is supreme or devotion and the like. When we try to understand precisely, we come to know that anything is one and the same. Instead, it is wrong to blame anyone or any path unnecessarily."
Thus, all the scriptures and means of spirituality arose based on the level of the practitioner. We must observe that there is no difference at all amongst them. Many people travel in many ways according to their capabilities and levels. Few wish to swim in ocean but few others want to go on in a boat. It is their wish. They just want to cross over in any possible manner. Similarly, the spiritual practices also do not have to be specific for all.

Om Namah Shivaya.
