http://i.imgur.com/64xzouL.jpg
Yesterday was a great day. My sister, @artemisnorth, made her first post on Steemit. I know she has a lot of talent to contribute so I’m really glad to see her onboard. She was already working on her second post last evening, so, we should see another one today. We had some snow last night so, the ground is starting to look like it actually is January in Canada. Some more is forecast for the Monday and Tuesday. Figures, I have volunteer shifts those two days. Today, I should be able to remain here at home and engaged in writing. YAHOO!! *Onward to today’s rambling* ### [Steemits First Video Game!!!! Steemit Chronicles:Prologue. PLAY FOR FREE NOW!!!!! FREE FOR STEEMIT COMMUNITY!](https://steemit.com/videogame/@sirlunchthehost/steemits-first-video-game-steemit-chronicles-prologue-play-for-free-now-free-for-steemit-community) @sirlunchthehost has put his many talents to work on creating the first Steem themed video game for Steemit. The game has been created by him on a barebones budget so don’t expect high end graphics but everyone has to start some where. I’ve downloaded the game and will try it out soon. Update: I tried out the game… played it until I died, I think it could become addictive. Well done @sirlunchthehost and I think the graphics are pretty cool actually. ### [IS ALL THIS TECHNOLOGY MAKING US DUMBER…](https://steemit.com/life/@macksby/is-all-this-technology-making-us-dumber) @macksby explores how technology has been changing our lives and access to information. He wonders if maybe it has become so pervasive in our lives that we’re losing our abilities to think, process and perceive the world around us, giving over to technology what our own brains should be doing. Does he have a point? I think so but weigh in with your thoughts in the comments. ### [Look Around You is the Padlock Key ](https://steemit.com/photography/@jsantana/look-around-you-is-the-padlock-key) @jsantana shares some of his recent photos and his thoughts from a photographer’s perspective on taking pictures. Interesting post. ### [Keeping Bears Out of Your Off Grid Retreat. Life in Canadian Cottage Country.](https://steemit.com/nature/@solarguy/keeping-bears-out-of-your-off-grid-retreat-life-in-canadian-cottage-country) For those of us cursing the cold of January, even on this bright sunny day, we can imagine the joy of a Canadian summer through this post from @solarguy. He’s posted some great pictures of cottage life in Algonquin Park, Ontario. ### [Small Victory! Dealing with clients that make you feel guilty.](https://steemit.com/life/@exyle/small-victory-dealing-with-clients-that-make-you-feel-guilty) @exyle shares a story about how a client tried to push his way into @exyle’s Saturday evening out with his girlfriend. When you’re in business for yourself there is often a sense that the customer always has to come first and that gives self-centred customers a greater sense of self-importance if they know they can push that button. @exyle took a wise approach, he gave his client a choice that had the client taken it would have compensated @exyle for giving up his evening. Nice work on @exyle’s part. ### [The Garden Dog: Man's Best Friend in the Permaculture System](https://steemit.com/permaculture/@lily-da-vine/the-garden-dog-man-s-best-friend-in-the-permaculture-system) I’ve heard of a lot things that a dog can be trained to do but to help out in the garden, now that is different. @lily-da-vine tells the story of her dogs and how they help her in her garden. Interesting and sometimes funny reading. I really like the image of Rebel ripping up veggies instead of weeds when he’s ticked. Good dog LOL ### [January 2017 30 Days Writing Challenge - Reporting Day 7](https://steemit.com/challenge30/@dragosroua/january-2017-30-days-writing-challenge-reporting-day-7) It’s important for a writer to have consistency in practicing the craft of writing. It’s something I don’t always achieve but I do try. @dragosroua start 2017 off with a 30 Day writing challenge that anyone can join. Here’s today’s report on the challenge posts. I’ve been coming across some of the posts as I explore doing the Ramble. Nice work @dragosroua and those taking part. ### [Essential skills in life: Gratitude](https://steemit.com/life/@sstefan/essential-skills-in-life-gratitude) Often, what goes wrong in our lives takes on a very strong position in our attention span and we forget to appreciate what we have to be grateful for. @sstefan writes about the benefits of not only being more grateful but purposely being aware of what we have to show gratitude for. ### [My Life: Living with a Severe Hearing Impairment and my New Hearing Aid](https://steemit.com/life/@krystle/my-life-living-with-a-severe-hearing-impairment-and-my-new-hearing-aid) @krystle writes a fantastic post chronicling her struggles with hearing issues and what it is like to live with hearing impairment. A new chapter has opened with new technology that finally allows her to have a range of hearing she’s not had before. Great story. ### [Basic Natural Yeast Starter Recipe](https://steemit.com/food/@get-baking/basic-natural-yeast-starter-recipe) @get-baking a great post about how to make your own natural yeast for making your own bread. I don’t often make bread but my sister, @artemisnorth, does so regularly as did our late father. Dad would have nothing to do with a breadmaker and it was not uncommon to arrive at his place early in the day to find him cleaning up after having baked some loaves of bread already. ## Wrap-up on Day #55 Another day of variety around Steemit. Some of the bitchfest posts seem to be dropping off in number and people are getting back to posting about more varied topics. I sort of wonder if the flare ups had a lot to do with holiday stress? I for one, am appreciating seeing a greater variety of postings. ## Supporting and Upvoting Let’s not forget folks. I’m sharing these posts not only because I like them. I’d really like to see them get support and upvoting. I know some of the posts have done okay by the time I post my ramble, but some really could use the support and upvoting. ## Subscribing to My Posts In addition to following me on Steemit, which I really appreciate. If you want to be sure to know about every post, you can subscribe at my other blog. I’ll send you an email when I post. ## Until Tomorrow — Just Steem on ------------
http://i.imgur.com/lo4jt8T.jpg
------------ ### If you like this, please follow me and upvote the post. ### If you’d like to see the other days I’ve posted, [just visit my profile](https://steemit.com/@shadowspub) ### If you’d like to be notified when I post next, [join my mailing list here.](http://www.pattimay.com/subscribe/) ------------
http://i.imgur.com/lkr4XTS.png
