Why is it settled science instead of theory?

When it comes to disease we shouldn't be afraid to present our knowledge and understanding of what disease is or how we deal with it personally and effectively. [Source of Image](https://crystalhealthandbeauty.co.uk/germ-theory-vs-terrain-theory/) https://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/notes-from-yesteryear/germ-theory-versus-terrain-the-wrong-side-won-the-day/ Sometimes I need to remember that the process of 'health and disease' is mostly 'theories', rather than absolute. When I read the article above it reminded me just how "normal" it is for people to explore disease in the human body and come up with differing 'theories'. This was a revelation for me because I have always known my body and trusted my body so I forgot that people could think differently than me as I rarely discussed health issues. Personally I never feared "germs" or thought they caused diseases. I just assumed it was a gimmick to sell cleaning products, however I definitely believed basic hygiene was important and that we had an immune system to keep the body healthy. I made personal choices on how I treated my body when I felt diseased or unpleasant within, I completely acknowledged and trusted my experience! Before covid no one ever told me to constantly think I had a deadly disease in my body when I felt fine. Before covid no one ever told me a fever, cough and sneeze was a sign of having a deadly disease so this was all new to me. My understanding was fevers were a natural form of healing, coughs and sneezes removed nasties and were a natural body function not something a "germ" made me do. To be honest I was never indoctrinated to believe germ theory or evolution theory, my personal philosophy was that schools had to teach this because they were forced to and were not allowed to teach "creation theory" or "ancestral knowledge" like in other cultures. In general "science" was agreeable. I just didn't believe some of the theories were true and that was fine because they were only theories after all. This never bothered me and I never felt pressured to create a belief system or to dismiss my own beliefs. I was never told there was only ONE correct theory to the healing modality which I must follow. However, now I'm fully aware that many have been taught that synthetic drugs and engineered pharmaceutical medicine is the only route to health. This idea must have been indoctrinated into a whole lot of people as they even started to use the phrase "settled science" when talking about synthetic drugs being injected into people to try and block germs from causing disease instead of using the phrase theory. I only realised in 2020 just how much natural healing remedies have been almost outlawed and anything "ancestral" has been termed alternative or cancelled out of society. Ever since I was a kid I thought medicine came from the rainforest and drugs came from a lab, not the other way around.
