We know that to survive we need money and that the best of all is when we achieve this by working in a profession that we like. Of course, this covers a little bit of everything, your work is your livelihood, so I usually say that any work that puts food on your table is important work, whether for you or your family.

We can consider that [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive) is also an important work for some, I believe that several valuable members here already survive just with their posts and feedback your [Investments](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-investment) made. My dream is to reach this level one day, although I know it is very difficult, nothing is impossible when we have the willpower to chase our dreams. So, yes, I actually need a job to have as my main source of income.

And what would that work be? Something I love very much, being programming, the famous computer code and some of its languages such as Visual Basic 6, C# (C-Sharp), PLPGSQL, PHP and JAVA. I've already touched a little on each of these languages and currently work at a company that offers systems and solutions for retail stores. This includes sales, finance, stock control, as well as solutions for issuing electronic tax coupons (NFCe) and electronic invoices (NFe). It's a really cool job, since I'm always involved in new ideas, new challenges and set in the world of computer technology.

I always joke with my friends that ***“I make programs for a living”*** and when they get scared I obviously talk about computer applications. My children are also amazed when I explain a little about what I do, they think it's great that their father makes software and that this helps the stores and everything else, I've already shown them some IDEs (The program that makes programs) that I work with and just like the code on the famous black screen. With all those ***“IF”***, ***“ElseIf”*** and ***“Else”*** and this is theoretically the basics of programming.

In their minds, all this is wonderful, they ask how I read English, how the screens, in fact, are so many words and everything and I always try to convey to them that programming is easy, being something you study and it's Just like a bicycle, because you will learn and experience the routines and they always repeat themselves, you learn once everything that can be done and then you modify what you learn to accommodate new things that arrive. Speaking like that, it's a little difficult for them to understand, but I believe the best way to explain it is to always show all this ***“magic”*** and how it happens.

Now, the two extremes of this are funny, because for my children and even my wife, the work of a programmer is incredible, it's something extraordinary and I even agree with them, many things and facilities were achieved precisely through the effort and commitment of many programmers, but, in my opinion, since I've been in this field for 13 years, what I do seems to be so simple and small that I can't say if it impacts society as a whole in any way. Of course, programming helps a lot when it is applied to government programs on [Web 2.0](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-2-0) or something that you need to use somewhere, these programs, the easier and more intuitive the better for public departments, now for a private company like mine, I don't believe we make that much of a difference depending on the sector in which it focuses on offering its applications.

And finally, if you ask me if I would like to change jobs or vocations, I can say that they have had this answer for a long time: I would only change if I were to live one of my dreams, which would be to be a [Content Creator](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-content-creator) or Streamer on YouTube or Twitch, or now, of course and obviously, living solely from Hive, whether from posts or analyzing investments that could give me a good return, creating an income portfolio. Other than that, so far I don't see any reason to stop working as a developer.

This is my vocation, I like to create things, solutions with programming and therefore, this is my work, my fun and my daily stress as the memes say!

Sabemos que para sobreviver precisamos de dinheiro e que o melhor de tudo é quando conseguimos isso trabalhando com uma profissão que gostamos. Claro que isso abrange de tudo um pouco, o seu trabalho é o seu ganha-pão, então costumo falar que todo trabalho que põe comida na sua mesa é um trabalho importante, seja para você ou a sua família.

Podemos considerar que a [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive) também é um trabalho importante para alguns, acredito que vários membros valiosos daqui já sobrevivem apenas com suas postagens e retorno de seus [Investimentos](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-investment) realizados. Meu sonho é chegar um dia neste nível, apesar de que sei que isso é bem difícil, nada é impossível quando temos força de vontade de correr atrás de nossos sonhos. Então, sim, eu preciso de um trabalho na realidade para ter como fonte de renda principal.

E qual seria esse trabalho? Algo que amo muito, sendo a programação, o famoso código de computador e algumas de suas linguagens como Visual Basic 6, C# (C-Sharp), PLPGSQL, PHP e JAVA. Já mexi um pouco em cada uma destas linguagens e atualmente trabalho em uma empresa que oferece sistemas e soluções para lojas de varejo. Isso inclui a parte de vendas, financeiro, controle de estoque, assim como soluções para a emissão de cupons fiscais eletrônicos (NFCe) e as notas fiscais eletrônicas (NFe). É um trabalho bem legal, já que estou envolto sempre em novas ideias, novos desafios e ambientado no mundo da tecnologia da computação.

Sempre brinco com meus amigos que ***“eu vivo de fazer programas”*** e quando eles se assustam falo aplicações para computador obviamente. Meus filhos também ficam espantados quando explico um pouco sobre o que faço, eles acham o máximo que o pai deles faz softwares e que isso ajuda as lojas e tudo mais, já mostrei algumas IDEs (O programa que faz programas) que trabalho e assim como o código na famosa tela preta. Com aqueles tantos de ***“IF”***, ***“ElseIf”*** e ***“Else”*** e olha que isso é teoricamente o básico de uma programação.

Na cabeça deles tudo isso é maravilhoso, eles perguntam como leio o inglês, como que as telinhas, na verdade, são aqueles tanto de palavras e tudo mais e sempre tento passar para eles que é fácil a programação, sendo algo que você estuda e é igual a uma bicicleta, porque você aprenderá e vivenciar as rotinas e meio que elas sempre se repetem, você aprende uma vez tudo o que pode ser feito e depois vai modificando isso que aprende para atender novas coisas que chegam. Falando assim, fica um pouco difícil para eles entenderem, mas acredito que a melhor forma de explicar é sempre mostrando toda essa ***“magia”*** e como ela acontece.

Agora, é engraçado os dois extremos disso, pois para meus filhos e até mesmo a minha esposa, o trabalho de programador é incrível, é algo extraordinário e até concordo com eles muitas coisas e facilidades foram conquistadas justamente pelo esforço e empenho de muitos programadores, mas, no meu ver, já que estou há 13 anos nesse ramo, o que faço parece ser tão simples e pequeno, que não sei dizer se impacta de alguma forma a sociedade na totalidade. Claro que a programação ajuda bastante quando é aplicada em programas do governo na [Web 2.0](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-2-0) ou algo que você precisa usar em algum lugar, estes programas, quanto mais fáceis e intuitivos, melhor para as repartições publicas, agora para uma empresa privada igual à minha, não acredito que fazemos tanta diferença dependendo do ramo que ela foca em oferecer seus aplicativos.

E por fim, se me perguntam se eu gostaria de trocar de emprego ou vocação, posso dizer que têm um bom tempo que essa resposta: apenas trocaria se fosse para viver algum dos meus sonhos, que seria ser um [Criador de Conteúdo](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-content-creator) ou Streamer no YouTube ou Twitch, ou agora, claro e obviamente, viver apenas de Hive, seja de postagens ou analisando investimentos que poderiam me dar um bom retorno, criando uma carteira de rendimentos. Tirando isso, até o momento não vejo o porquê de deixar de trabalhar como desenvolvedor.

Essa é a minha vocação, gosto de criar coisas, soluções com a programação e por isso, esse é o meu trabalho, a minha diversão e o meu estresse diário como dizem os memes!
