I think the most common options for making a token useful are paying dividends in hive, distributing other tokens (like bbh), or something I think is cool right now, receiving HP delegation. I think it's nice to have raffles or something like that where the more tokens you have, the more HP you get delegated for a while. This can encourage people to buy more of the token. 

There could also be discounts on something, things like that.
