<p>Who doesn't love birds? I'm always fascinated by birds!</p> <p>For a while now I have been wanting to participate in Feathered Friends and share photos about birds. But I am such a novice in photography and have been so frustrated many times in my attempts to capture the birds encountered in my neighborhood because not one single photo I've taken of birds were worthy enough to show in #featheredfriends... until last week, when @melinda010100 made the comment on my article <a href="https://hive.blog/hive-136819/@silversaver888/esldupfr" >The Majestic American Bald Eagle Silver Bar</a>,

and reminded me yesterday that showing the birds depicted in the silver & gold pieces on my stack are acceptable and appropriate to show here.

<p><b><em>Wildlife is a often depicted in silver and gold coins, rounds and bars. </em></b></p>
<p>You can imagine how thrilled I am right now to be able to participate in the Feathered Friends community and at the same time share my passion for precious metals stacking. Yes, <b><em>I am a silver and gold stacker!</em></b></p>

<p>The <b>Kookaburras</b> are terrestrial tree kingfishers native to Australia and New Guinea. The loud distinctive call of the laughing kookaburra is widely used as a stock sound effect in situations that involve an Australian bush setting or tropical jungle. <p>Click the link to

<p>The Silver Kookaburra is the longest-running silver bullion coin program at the Perth Mint.  2020 date mark celebrates the 30th anniversary of the program. </p>

<p>The <b>obverse</b> of 2020 1 oz Australian Silver Kookaburra Coins bears a distinctive design for the 30th anniversary. At the top is a small circle that features Jody Clarks latest effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Below that in the center of the design field is Stuart Devlins original 1990 image of the kookaburra that launched the program. <p>On the <b>reverse</b> of 2020 Australian Silver Kookaburra Coins is a new design from Jennifer McKenna. On this side, a kookaburra is shown on the apex of a roof as the sun rises to greet a new day in the distance. Stylized rays of the sun reach out to the edges of the design field as the kookaburra opens its beak to let out its songbird call. A special inscription along the bottom rocker of the 2020 release states 30th Anniversary to mark the occasion.<a href="https://www.jmbullion.com/2020-1-oz-australian-silver-kookaburra-coin/"></a></p>

<p>The 2020 issue of Australian Kookaburra coins represents the 30th anniversary of one of the Perth Mints longest-running series. The silver and gold coins for the 2020 year have special nods to the 1990 debut of the collection, and in the case of the gold coins it is <b>first-time issues.</b> <a href="https://www.jmbullion.com/2020-1-10-oz-australian-gold-kookaburra-coin/"></a>
<ul> <li>1st time the Perth Mint has ever issued a 1/10 oz Gold Kookaburra!</li>
 <li>Limited mintage of only 15,000 coins</li>
 <li>Contains 1/10 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.</li>
 <li>The face value of $15 (AUD) is fully backed by the Australian government.</li>
 <li>The reverse includes the original 1990 design of the kookaburra.</li>
 <li>On the obverse of the coin is the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.</li>
 <li>A kookaburra sits on the trunk of a fallen tree in the reverse design.</li>

<p>The 1990 design created by Stuart Devlin that launched the Australian Kookaburra series is featured on the reverse of these 2020 Australian Kookaburra 1/10 oz Gold Coins. In this design, a lone kookaburra sits amidst the foliage perched on the stump of a fallen tree. Inscriptions on this side include a dual date mark of 1990 and 2020, as well as Australian Kookaburra, 1/10 oz 9999 Gold, and the P mintmark of the Perth Mint.

<p>Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse of 2020 Australian Kookaburra 1/10 oz Gold Coins. Here, the Queen is featured in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem crown, earrings, and the Victorian coronation necklace. For the first time since 1966, an Australian coin portrait of Her Majesty includes her neckline and shoulders. Inscriptions include Elizabeth II, Australia, and 15 Dollars.

<p>  To protect the gold coin from the elements and damage, I first encapsulate it using an <em>airtite capsule</em>.  I do this for all the other fractional gold coins that I have. </p>
