God calls us to have faith in Him, or believe in Him. When we do that He reveals himself to us.
It is faith on our part (however flimsy !) first, then He responds. Jesus always looked for people who had faith, who trusted and believed. Jesus looked for a response from the people as to who He was ? ( this is the most important question that we all face - who is Jesus ? ... and we all have to answer that question somehow, sometime in our lifetime)
Heaven is open to believers, not skeptics.
In the book of Proverbs 3:5-6 it says - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
God is not so far away from us !  ... all we have to do is open our hearts and believe.
Jesus paid a debt HE DID NOT OWE, Because we owed a debt WE COULD NOT PAY, He paid our debt at the cross.
TO BRING US BACK TO GOD !    ..... to reconcile a lost world back to himself, it's creator.
