# FIVE MINUTES FREEWRITE  
  We are living in a world filled with moral decadence, chaos, pandemonium ,fracas and social imbalance, have we for once sit back and ask ourselves how we got into this messy situation.<div class="pull-left"><center>![IMG-20180225-WA0002.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXfq3LFZpo7BYjHhnpYggjNXSb59QmByuMMBGoPUZzqpR/IMG-20180225-WA0002.jpg)</center></div>When issues arises I prefer to look at the origin of the problem ,every action has a circumstance surrounding it .where and when did we get it wrong, I strongly believe the virtue the world had lost, and not found, is honesty, according to the Oxford English dictionary ,honesty is defined as the act, quality, or condition of being honest; to be truthful. In the word of the great poet Williams Shakespeare, no legacy is as rich as honesty. with the above stated definition and quotation it implies that honesty is nothing but the key to living a good life although it has it pain but I strongly believe the gain that come along with it is an everlasting comfort. I want to look at the issue of dishonesty from three different perspectives, how it affects our social intercourse, politics and family\relationship.

In our day to day activities as human, we go into business, education, sport, recreation etc. lies has been the order of the day, among the business community, they will tell you they just have to tell corporate lies to sell their policies and maintain their status quo. Any worker or staff who could not cope, will either loss the job or remain dormant forever. Education in this part of the world I find myself as been relegated to nothing, nobody cares about the credibility of a degree holder but great emphasis is placed on certificate which I term a mere paper. since the society has deviated from the right course the students themselves are ready to go the extra length just to meet up with the societal needs, this is the reason you find most student indulging in examination malpractice. Now another trending is this, most of the firms has placed age restriction on employment, due to this development most of the students has to reduce their age to the minimum. Dishonesty in sport is just too alarming, most of the player are notorious cheats that the sport organizer had to apply technology just to catch up with them, it is alarming.

Politics, the machinery of the state. who are the politician, they are nothing but the product of the society, when the society is in jeopardy who will bell the cat. The module operandi of the politicians from this part of the world has been the same for years, they will always promise good road, constant power supply and massive employment opportunity, all this promises they never fulfil. The politicians see the public office as an avenue to enrich themselves and their generation to come. They make their follower wallow in poverty so that they can be easily manipulated. All institutions were made redundant just to make the follower feeble, where did we get it wrong.

The family, the starting point of the society. Where the foundation of the family is rooted in dishonesty, what kind of fruit do we expect to find in the society. When the relationship of a man and woman is based on deceit what do you expect of the kids nothing but dishonesty. Parent are the architect of the society, good parenting will produce good children, the good children will make a good citizen, the good citizen will make a great nation. But, bad parenting will produce bad children, the bad kid will make a bad citizen, the bad citizen will make a bad nation. You cannot give what you don't have, most divorce we hear of today can but attributed to nothing but dishonesty. if the center is weak how do we get a balancing.

HONESTY is the sole solution to the world problem if we can inculcate it into our day to day activities, we shall see the light behind the tunnel. In a setting where dishonesty has taken over, to be pious sounds like an illusion. Where corruption, illegal activities and evil deeds has become the order of the day, I believe honesty still prevail, for it is boldly stated in the holy book, that the blessing of GOD giveth joy and addeth no sorrow, there is nothing that can be compared to a peaceful mind. You have to tell more lies to cover up an initial lie. With this I can stand up high to say, the reward of honesty is GODS blessing.
