Crypto noob reporting for duty again! Last time we met! I responded to the crypto crash by buying more bitcoin! Since then, I have gone back to work, so I don’t quite have the same time I used to. My adventures (and other articles) will therefore become more sparse, but I’ll keep trying to deliver. Let’s get started, shall we? **1 – Last ditch effort!** As my “fortune” continues falling, following the first rumours that the Chinese would shut down their crypto exchanges, I decided that $4100 was the absolute rock-bottom that this currency would get to. That meant only one thing – time to dump the rest of my funds into this! And so I did… and for the next couple of days, it worked! I sort of averaged the amount of money I spent on bitcoins, and as such, my losses stabilized! My brake-even point has now become around $4400. So long as it stays above or near that value, I can say that I haven’t really lost money! …A few days later though… **2 – Tragedy strikes once more…** As I speak, Bitcoin stands at $3225.33. Yeah. It’s been going downhill throughout the whole week, but today, it simply decided to plummet towards the ground. The day has been a series of lows that hadn’t been seen for more than a month. …Won’t lie. This demotivates me a little. I feel like I completely mistimed my investments. I let myself get so wrapped up in all the euphoria and the craze, that I didn’t stop and think whether or not it would calm down again in the future. But you know what? Letting that happen to myself would serve no purpose. Crypto trading is like real trading. You have to expect to lose money, and I was fully expecting it when I started. Now is the time to look forward, and you know what? **3 – Hope springs eternal** Bitcoin has flopped for now. But you know what? It doesn’t matter. When I put my money into Bitcoin, I didnt just do it to hop onto a rocket to the moon. I did it to hop on a rocket into the future – and that future is the blockchain. I’ve been reading up on the blockchain even more in recent times, and every word makes it so that my belief becomes more and more solid. Blockchain is here to stay, and it’s the future. Even China knows this, else they wouldn’t try to regulate this so soon. When I bought Bitcoin, I was buying into a currency that will soon be widespread and commonly used – that I bought it with money I made on Steemit is only more fitting. Every little bit of cryptocurrency, regardless of how much money it makes short term, is a small passport into the future. When the world adopts this currency fully, we’ll be among the pioneers, who can proudly say they bought it, regardless of the immediate outcome! **Lessons learned** Like @joe.nobel said in my last post, the truth of the matter is that I was impulsive – the lesson there is to be learned here is to not move in the eye of the storm. Had I just pulled my head out of the clouds, I could have seen the instability surrounding the market – while it’s true that the Chinese report was unpredicted, if I had been more disciplined, I wouldn’t have lost quite as much as I did. I still have a very marginal amount of Steem left for trading… but I will wait for this bear season to end before I start buying again. Also, I will diversify in the future, so as to not be so vulnerable to a single currency’s fluctuations. But that’s a tale for next time! **That wraps this up!** As a bit of an off-topic, I just want you guys to know that I love writing here on Steemit, and truly feel motivated to give it my all here. I write this now knowingly exchanging precious hours of sleep for more Steemit time – and I regret nothing, because if even just one of you guys reads this and likes it, it was all worth it :) If you have some question, criticism, or just wanna let me know what you thought of this, sound off in the comments below! Till the next one guys! Steem on!
