***"Home Assistants"*** like the Amazon Echo or Google/Apple Home have quickly become a popular gadget on the market. 
They are like a "*Siri*" for your house - you can ask them anything and they'll answer, play music, control other home devices and more. 
Currently, these home assistants don't seem to be very widely used - and this might also be due to the limited functions. 
Despite that, the interest of the market for these kinds of gadgets is still growing, which is why drone start-up Aevena has decided to release a new, revolutionary product on the crowdfunding platform ***kickstarter:***

The Aire drone is described as *"self-flying robotic assistant for the home."*
Its heart is the 4K camera that records images and videos and is even equipped with night vision functionality.
The drone flies all by itself, using cutting edge robotics, technology similar to "*inside out tracking*" of AR/VR headsets or self-driving cars and computer vision software.
Of course, Aire also comes with built-in ***obstacle avoidance*** so that it doesn't crash into anything in your home - this is achieved by several cameras and computer vision algorithms.
It flies with noise levels much lower than traditional drones - it is supposed to sound similar to a hair dryer.
You can even *interact* with the Aire safely: you can grab it and place it anywhere in mid-air, where the system will stabilize itself and keep flying like nothing happened.
Aire also comes with a docking station where it charges and lifts off by itself.

### Amazon Alexa and Aire

The Aire drone can be completely **voice-controlled** and cooperates with **Amazon's *'Alexa'*** AI system.
The **cooperation with Alexa** brings several benefits - for one, the platform is already widely adopted and many people are familiar with it. 
But this also means that it works with all of Alexa's functions - like asking her about the weather, directions, general knowledge, or really any other question you could google. 
Of course, you can also control the Aire's flight via voice command, or control other connected IoT devices within your home.

One of the main purposes of Aire is that it acts as ***home security system.*** It flies around your home while you're away, and you can check the mobile App at any time to see whether everything is alright in your home, or how your pet is doing.
If there is any suspicious activity like motion- or sound abnormalities, Aire notifies you with an alert through the smartphone app so that you can inspect any part of your home via real-time video.

### Personal Photographer / Next-Generation Selfie Stick

Aire also acts as your ***personal photographer*** - it's like the next-generation selfie stick you never knew you needed. 
You can ***voice-control*** the drone to fly right in front of you and position itself to take the ideal picture. The system can distinguish if everyone is in the picture, optimizes its position, angle, and more.

If Aire becomes successful, there will be a lot of other features that could revolutionize the home assistant market and set it apart from other home robotic systems. 
For example, Aire could create a ***3D map*** of your entire home to help with remodeling, or make a ***scan*** for insurance purposes. It can also fly around your home to ***search*** for a specific person which it can identify through machine learning algorithms, or fly patrol around your house to check for anything unusual.
