What if you could get ***answers*** to any question or translate someone else's language in real-time, just with your headphones alone?

## What are "Google Pixel Buds" ?
Google's Pixel Buds are the company's first ***wireless*** ear buds that chase after rival **Apple's AirPods.**
They are "*neckbuds*", so both ear buds are connected to lay around your neck (in order for you to not lose them), but they connect wirelessly to your phone. 
The Pixel Buds aren't in-ear headphones, but instead sit outside of your ear canal and stay anchored in place by a small loop formed by the cord, which can be adjusted individually. Google chose to go with this method of wearing to ensure the most ***comfort*** for all shapes and sizes of ears.
They offer a variety of different ***features***, the main purpose being language translation and easy access to the Google Assistant AI. 
The Pixel Buds cost **$160** just like Apple's AirPods, come in black white and grey-blue, and a case that also doubles as charger is included as well.
The case holds four charges, and each charge lasts for about 5 hours of usage with the earbuds.

## Features
The earbuds can be controlled with ***gestures*** on the right earbud - one tap translates to a play / pause, swiping forward increases the volume and back reduces it. When a new push notification comes in via your smartphone, you can even double tap the right earbud to have it **read** aloud to you. 


### Google Assistant
One of the main purposes of the Google Pixel Buds is to provide easy and quick access to the ***Google Assistant AI.*** 
To activate that, you just press your finger down on the right earbud and then start giving voice controls. Once you are done, lift up your finger, and the assistant will respond after an audio cue.

## Translation Feature

#### The Pixel Buds can translate 40 different languages, pretty much in real-time.

Since the system works with the ***google translate*** app, it enables access to translations between 40 different languages - that's **1,600** different combinations! 
To make use of this feature, you simply tap and hold on the right earbud and say, for example "help me speak Spanish", followed by a phrase you'd like to have translated into Spanish. 
Once you take your finger off, the Google translate app will display the translation on your phone, as well as read it aloud in your ear. 
Next, the person you're speaking to will hold down a button on your phone to answer in their language, and then the app will read the translated reply in your ear. 
But this feature will only be enabled on users with a Pixel 2 phone by google. 
According to Google CEO **Sundar Pichai**, they have *"improved our translation ability more in one single year than all our improvements over the last 10 years combined"* - so we'll see how well the real-time translation feature works!
