I, Joe Donnelly, staff essayist at PC Gamer, don't support my bosses' conduct. Locking Sea of Thieves randos in the brig is no chuckling issue—at the same time, to be reasonable, I think Sam and Tom's prisoners merited their detainments. Uproarious individuals are a torment in the arse. Also, they felt truly terrible a short time later, proposing manners by which the diversion's lockup may be enhanced down the line.

To this end, it would appear that Rare is working towards private, welcome just groups.

"Players are abusing the brig for different reasons," says official maker Joe Neate in this blog entry. "The most widely recognized of these we have seen are to hold an opening, either in light of the fact that they need to play as a private team or on the grounds that they need to play with individuals with mics/individuals talking a similar dialect."

Keeping in mind the end goal to settle this, Neate says he and his group are attempting to "enable players to choose whether they need their ship to be available to others being matchmade with them, or shut so it's welcome as it were." In turn, he trusts this will moderate one of the "key reasons" getting out of hand pirates use to mishandle the brig. Additionally, private teams will likewise give players a chance to cruise the ship in littler gatherings, or the sloop with bigger outfits.

The blog entry proceeds: "Firmly identified with the abuse of the brig, players don't generally have any control over who they play with (aside from playing with companions). The key inclinations we see are to play with different players utilizing a mic, or to discover individuals talking a similar dialect.

"We are dealing with naturally matchmaking by mouthpiece status. The diversion as of now recognizes on the off chance that you have a mouthpiece connected to, and matchmaking will now organize coordinating you through your mic status… We will add the choice to channel by dialect for matchmaking so players can discover different players who talk a similar dialect to team up with."

Somewhere else, the post delivers changes to dispatch respawns, bring forth slaughtering and managing con artists in addition to other things. Read about that here.

Private teams or not, our Sea of Thieves novice's guide offers tips on voyages, groups, and profiting.
