We are to hear the Word of God and listen to it. When we listen to the doctrines of Jesus Christ and apply them to our lives, the Word of God that we are hearing will profit us. We should not be like idol who have ears but cannot hear. When we come and hear the Word of God but our lives are not affected by the word of God which we are hearing, we are like those idols. The Bible says that those who worship the idols are like their idols. They have ears but they are not hearing. That is what the Word of God is like.

We should live our lives according to the Word of God. We should listen to the doctrines and obey them. We should keep the commandments of God. We should be obedient children who put to practice everything which we learn from the Bible. Our hearts need to be affected by the word of God that we are hearing. When we hear and listen, we will be able to bear fruits that depict the nature of true disciples of Jesus Christ.
