Amanita Explosions
I found loads of Amanita muscaria var. guessowii in the forest.

This forest was full of evergreens and amanitas were growing everywhere. Here is one just bursting through the soil.

Now a slightly larger one. These things remind me of a mushroom cloud explosion.

Now a slightly larger one.

Look at this one. These are the time when they have their best color.

![PSX_20230930_184930.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/sketch.and.jam/23wgCxBqy35KSyq6Tajop6bAK8wzMy7pXyKdbznUMqk7p543GaMYKzjhfgVsTnKfkaHiL.jpg)
Now here is one with its cap just starting to expand. At this point they lose their red and become fully yellow.

At this point they are fully matured. Technically these yellow amanitas have some of the psychedelic compounds that the red ones have just way less of it.

Stoners often think they hot the jackpot with these things but end up not getting much of a high. Perhaps the squirrel that took a bite out of this one got a buzz of somekind.

Once they get older the caps start inverting into a goblet shape.

I read somewhere that after a rain these goblet shaped caps collect the water and some of the psychedelic properties end up being distilled in the rainwater.

I wouldn't recommend drinking rainwater from one of these goblets. Do your own research before messing with these guys.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
