Feathered Friday - Dove Differences with a Few other Sightings
Here are a couple of doves and some other sightings for this #featheredfriday

I used to think white winged doves were just mourning doves. But they have differences in color, sound and just a bit in size.

White winged doves have red eyes with blue eyeliner. Then the obvious white edge on the front of their wings.

Their call is quite similar to mourning doves but a bit louder and they tend to be more vocal.

Thankfully I was able to get a side by side shot of one next to a mourning dove under a feeder.

If only a Eurasian collared dove had landed here too I could get the three lookalikes together. I'm sure all three have been under the feeder at one point.

Now for a rare sighting... A house sparrow with nesting material... J/k quite the common sight as they are constantly building nests all the time everywhere. Starbucks COffee is definitely fueling the house sparrow boom across the country.

Here is their handywork in various signage. O's and C's are their favorite.

Meanwhile in Arizona here is a more unique nest from a cactus wren. Nothing like having a good home defense system for snakes or other birds built into your nest.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
